    Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

Manchester United are pretty much 4-4-1-1 with Henrikh Mkhitaryan close to Romelu Lukaku. Anthony Martial is working hard on the left, tracking back to stop Joe Gomez from getting a shot away.

There's the first groans of frustration as the referee prevents Liverpool from taking a quick free-kick. Mohamed Salah then does a lovely Zidane turn on the edge of the area and goes down, but no foul is given...

We've had a shot on target though! Georginio Wijnaldum moves the ball on to his left foot, a good 20 yards out, but his curler is easily saved by David de Gea. It would take some shot to beat the keeper from there.

De Gea was the most-picked player in our combined Liverpool-Man Utd XI by the way.

My first Premier League game was here at Anfield. It was a 3-3 draw, a crazy game, and I was playing for Charlton Athletic against a Liverpool team containing the likes of John Barnes and Steve Staunton. Talk about an intimidating atmosphere...

In reply to Oliver Holt (12:03 BST). Maybe it should be called after an airline. Maybe then Liverpool would spend serious cash and win things. If it was called after an airline at the moment I’d go for the Monarch Arena.

Eric Bailly is a bigger miss than Mane. He's absolutely huge for United, especially against attackers with pace. 3-1 to Liverpool.

What's the opposite of 'high press?'

Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip exchange what must be five one-twos in a row while advancing absolutely nowhere from the halfway line. Manchester United have retreated back in to position and watch them.

All quiet on the western front.

PA reporter Carl Markham: United getting 10 men back over the halfway line when Liverpool's centre-backs have the ball. Sound familiar?

MEN writer Samuel Luckhurst: Slight surprise about United formation with Young on the right. Looks like 4-2-3-1. Herrera in some discomfort after a knock.

Liverpool ECHO writer Andy Kelly: This is not going to be a 'ghost' Wijnaldum game. He's been heavily involved for Liverpool so far.

Ashley Young has started brightly. He is a trusted lieutenant of Jose Mourinho's, often popping up in these big games.

The opening 10 minutes has not been a thrill though. Patience required. Joel Matip shoots over with no real options ahead of him.

Hearing You'll Never Walk Alone sung by the Anfield crowd ahead of a big game is one of football's great experiences.

It is the modern way that as the anthem was sung with such gusto, hundreds of fans around me were videoing it on their smartphones rather than joining in.

I haven't seen any half and half scarves yet but I imagine they do exist, which seems silly on a day like this.

    I am getting old.

Ashley Young plays a neat first-time cross in from the right but it's well cleared before our first injection of pace into the game. Gini Wijnaldum runs past two United midfielders and gets the ball out wide before meeting a cut-back, his effort is deflected though. At the other end Joel Matip has to clear well to prevent Romelu Lukaku meeting one.

Ashley Young is playing an advanced role on the right for United. Amazing, isn't it, modern-day football? He usually starts in a defensive position on the left.

In my day that would never have happened - it would be like asking David Beckham to go left-back!

Hard to imagine Becks unseating Denis Irwin, isn't it?

Fabian Pavez: Why is everyone saying Jose will park the bus with Lukaku, Martial and Mkhitaryan on the pitch?

Lewis Wilson: Jose Mourinho won't park the bus today. If we go out and play attacking football we could hammer Liverpool.

Mark Taylor: I don't think that United averaging three goals a game can be described as boring. Can it?

Jose Mourinho hasn't read the weather forecast. He's got a shirt, jumper and overcoat on. It's balmy out there Jose.

The Manchester United boss is warmed by his team winning a couple of early corners, Henrikh Mkhitaryan going for the near post both times, Liverpool's defence clearing the second as far as Matteo Darmian.

He drags it well wide. A full-back's shot.

Liverpool have only one way of playing - high energy, high press. But Manchester United, who were the firstof the two sides to emerge into the Anfield tunnel, will be prepared for that.

Liverpool have to be at their very, very best to win this game. United do not have to be at their best to get something today. That is the difference between the two sides.

I'm grinning. Isn't it nice that the unveiling of the Kenny Dalglish Stand has been done while the man himself is still around to appreciate it?

And he took that all somewhat sheepishly - he strode out, waved to all around then strode off. A great moment for a man who was a great player.
