Wilfried Bony scored 25 Premier League goals in a season and a half with the Swans first time around...

I'm not sure which motorway Wilfried Bony chose for his drive to Swansea but, whether it was the M4 or M50 (regarding Juliette's earlier question), he's arrived for his medical in south Wales in good time.

Manchester City have accepted a bid of around £12m for the Ivorian, who left the Swans for the Etihad in 2015.

Swansea will wait until Fernando Llorente's move to Tottenham - or Chelsea - is completed before they announce Bony's return.

  4. Sanchez deal in jeopardypublished at 18:26 British Summer Time 31 August 2017
    Breaking

    David Ornstein
    BBC Sport

Manchester City's bid to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez looks to be over.

It is understood that a conditional agreement was reached in principle between City and Arsenal for Sanchez to move to the Etihad Stadium.

The fee was £55m, plus £5m in add-ons.

But it depended on Arsenal first securing a replacement to fill the gap left by the 28-year-old.

Their target was Monaco winger Thomas Lemar and an agreement was reportedly reached between the clubs for a fee in the region of £90m.

However, it is thought that the 21-year-old France international decided against the move.

City are currently not prepared to resurrect the deal by offering a player in exchange or more money for a straight cash deal.

Barring a remarkable last-minute turn of events Sanchez, who wanted to join City to be reunited with his former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola, will stay at Arsenal.

Everton still searching for the quality striker Ronald Koeman wanted to help fill the gap left by Romelu Lukaku's departure - no joy yet.

Everton have got so much right in this window but this was/is arguably the key deal to whether they can make serious progress.

Bristol Rovers fans went into deadline day fearing one of their biggest assets Billy Bodin would be sold. But manager Darrell Clarke said today he would be very "angry" if he lost any of his players come 11pm. Clarke is still looking to add to his squad, but as things stand having missed out on a couple of targets there appears to be only the chance of one new arrival, if that by the end of play.

'It's essential for Arsenal to change their manager' - Sinclair

Former England winger Trevor Sinclair says Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's departure to Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool shows that Arsene Wenger has been left behind by a new generation of managers who inspire players more than he does.

"It is essential for Arsenal Football Club to change their manager," he concludes.

Would Thomas Tuchel or Diego Simeone have the mojo that Wenger lacks?

The Frenchman's current contract runs to the end of the 2018-19 season.

Philippe Coutinho could be the biggest mover of the lot but that's all gone a bit quiet. Liverpool have maintained that they will not sell their number 10 to Barcelona no matter how many pesetas they wave at them.

Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City? It still seems quite likely that that may happen. Fernando Llorente is a fascinating back-up plan to Harry Kane at Spurs while if Kylian Mbappe goes to Paris St-Germain I'm putting a fiver on them to win the French League...

  20. Decisions, decisions for Bonypublished at 18:04 British Summer Time 31 August 2017

    Juliette Ferrington
    BBC Radio 5 live

    He’s on his way.

Wilfried Bony is en route to Swansea for his medical after the club agreed a fee earlier today with Manchester City, thought to be in the region of £12m.

He will certainly know how to get there seeing as he left the Liberty Stadium for the Etihad in January 2015. He also had a loan spell at Stoke but it’s always that decision when you’re travelling to South Wales: ‘do I take the M4 and pay the toll or go on the M50 and get in for free?’

Should be done with a few hours to spare and once that deal is completed that should be it for Paul Clement and Swansea.
