It sounds like Alexis Sanchez's move to Manchester City was very close to going through - it collapsed because Thomas Lemar chose not to join Arsenal.

Three hours to deadline
The transfer deadline day which promised so much is threatening to stall on us all.
Will we see any more big moves? Or are Fernando Llorente and Wilfried Bony about as good as we are going to get?
Andy Townsend
Ex-Republic of Ireland international on BBC Radio 5 live
Where is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain going to play for Liverpool? Is he going to get in the team ahead of Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, Emre Can, Philippe Coutinho (who will stay), Georginio Wijnaldum and James Milner? I think the key factor is how he feels Jurgen Klopp will develop him. He's gone to improve himself.

Chelsea are out of contention to sign Fernando Llorente.
They had been close for weeks but no offer was accepted. Tottenham came in and had an offer accepted today.
The 32-year-old Spaniard underwent a medical with Spurs and the deal is progressing. It will go through if and when Swansea sign a replacement - Wilfred Bony.
Fernando Llorente seems a sensible ploy for Spurs. Interestingly, their current back-up to Harry Kane, Vincent Janssen, is playing up front for the Netherlands against France at the moment.
It's 0-0.
Charlie Adam
Stoke City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live
Fernando Llorente is an interesting case. He has a relationship with Antonio Conte from their time together at Juventus; however, he's got a choice between back-up to Alvaro Morata at Chelsea or Harry Kane at Tottenham. Either way, he's going to be sat on the bench for most of the season so he's going to have to be happy with that.
Burnley
Kevin Robinson from NoNayNever.net, external:
Burnley's transfer window has been dominated by three major outgoings in key positions - but overall should be seen as a success.
Michael Keane was always expected to advance his career, and Joey Barton's ban forced him out of the club - but Andre Gray's desire to leave was disappointing. That left us with significant holes in defence, midfield and attack.
James Tarkowski has waited patiently for his chance at the back, and despite a couple of lapses looks like he'll be a fine replacement for Keane. We have an alarming lack of cover here though and backup is surely required before the window closes.
Eyebrows were raised over the addition of Chris Wood, with many worrying that he was too similar to Sam Vokes. However, in a super league debut at Wembley he looked more combative than the Welshman, and took his goal superbly well. We still lack any pace up top, and I expect Dyche to bring in another option with this in mind.
I'd like to see another option in attack, plus some cover out wide and at centre-back. But ultimately I'm really happy with our first XI. We've recruited well, despite the weighty departures.

That's a lot of deals in not a lot of minutes - keep up with all of today's deals with the BBC transfer list. Here.
There's been a loan flurry in the EFL.
Oxford United have signed midfielder Alex Mowatt on a season-long loan from Championship club Barnsley. Impressive stuff.
Eoin Doyle has joined Oldham on loan from Preston.
Rochdale have taken Jordan Williams on loan from Liverpool, while Jordan Graham has joined Fulham from Wolves for the season.
And Sheffield United have signed Ben Heneghan from Motherwell for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal.
As you might expect, Arsenal fans have reacted to their club's relatively stingy summer outlay with a cheerful shrug...
Watford
Another signing for Watford! They confirm the signing of defender Molla Wague on a season-long loan from - wait for it - Udinese.

Leicester City
This is a bit of a surprise, to me anyway, as Leicester allow midfielder Nampalys Mendy to join Nice on a season-long loan.
Does that have any impact on Danny Drinkwater?

Thomas Lemar indicated earlier in the summer that he would have moved to Arsenal. However, today he turned down the opportunity. Perhaps he is holding out for a Spanish giant like Barcelona to come in for him - and their window doesn't close until tomorrow night...
Meanwhile, League Two Chesterfield are tweeting about car boot sales.

Newcastle United
Matthew Raisbeck, BBC Newcastle
To the disappointment of Rafa Benitez and the Newcastle supporters, it is very unlikely that Newcastle United will make any signings before the deadline.
A loan deal for Southampton left back Matt Targett is now off.
The Magpies had been looking for a striker but have missed out on Liverpool’s Divock Origi and Lucas Perez of Arsenal.
And, because they have been unable to bring in another forward player, Dwight Gayle won’t be allowed to leave for Fulham, whose offer of £15m remains on the table.
Meanwhile, out-of-favour goalkeeper Tim Krul will join Brighton on loan for the season, and left back Achraf Lazaar will move to Serie A side Benevento.
Brighton have completed the signing of Argentine defender Ezequiel Schelotto from Sporting Lisbon for an undisclosed fee.
The 28-year-old right-back, who has Italian citizenship, has signed a three-year deal with the Premier League newbies.
Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales
Tottenham remain favourites to sign Swansea striker Fernando Llorente, who has had a medical with Spurs but could still be the subject of a late offer from Chelsea.
The Premier League champions are running out of time in their bid to reunite Llorente with his former manager at Juventus, Antonio Conte.
Once Llorente's departure is confirmed, Wilfried Bony is set to complete his £12m return to Swansea from Manchester City.
That should be that for the Swans, whose hopes of signing West Brom winger Nacer Chadli look increasingly remote after the Baggies set an asking price of £26m for the Belgian.
Leicester City
A move that has gone quiet over the last 24 hours or so is Danny Drinkwater leaving Leicester to join Chelsea.
The latest I'm hearing is that the move could still happen, but only if the price is right for Leicester AND they can find a suitable replacement.
Which, with a few hours left, seems a lot to ask...
