    Southampton 1-0 West Brom

    West Bromwich Albion

West Brom boss Tony Pulis speaking to Match of the Day about Sofiane Boufal's goal: "The viewers will see it and think it's a wonderful goal. He's going past five players, one or two you'd hope would do better. It's disappointing.

"Second half we changed it and had a lot more chances. We really had the best opportunity of the game - if we score there it's a different game.

"Second half our performance was much better and we made much more of a game of it."

  6. 'Sofiane has that ability'published at 19:49 British Summer Time 21 October 2017

    Southampton 1-0 West Brom

    Southampton

Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino speaking to Match of the Day: "It was a physical game, the weather conditions wasn't the best, but we put them under pressure. We created chances and scored at the end."

On Sofiane Boufal's wonder goal: "Sofiane has got ability to do it, we had to change at the end because they put five defenders. We made the right decision and got the victory for more confidence for the next game.

"I can say that we have got a group of players that most of them deserve to play, but the manager has to choose 11. Sofiane has to wait for his opportunity.

"They were pushing, but tried to play more simple and direct with good deliveries. They create problems, but we controlled well."

Hamza Darby: I've defended Pulis but this negative football is taking it's toll. Only 4 wins in 2017, it's hardly working either!

Fabian Crusoe: Pro's careers are short and to play so much of it without the ball is a crying shame. Pulis ball is cruel on all involved

  9. 'A very special goal'published at 19:39 British Summer Time 21 October 2017

    Southampton 1-0 West Brom

    Southampton

Southampton goalscorer Sofiane Boufal on BT Sport: "My first Premier League goal of this season, yes, it's very special - the most important thing is we take three points - more important than my goal.

"I scored one in France I remember, but I am so happy with this goal. I am so hungry. The most important thing is to show the manager on the pitch I can play with this team."

Sofiane Boufal has just suggested that was not even the best goal he's scored in his career.

    I don't believe him.

I asked before the game whether Tony Pulis or Mauricio Pellegrino would be under pressure were they to lose today.

The Baggies are seven games without a win now. They have only won two in their last 18.

What do you make of that West Brom fans? Baggiesguy (below) is not impressed. Agree?

Matt McNicholas: Thank god. It's no more than Southampton deserve. Pulis is the death of football as we know it.

Baggiesguy: As an Albion fan I despair. These players are capable of attacking football. But the management won’t let them. Time for change

    Sam Jamaa: Simply Bou-ti-fal (Sorry)

Don't aplogise Sam. I like it.

By no means a classic but that goal from Sofiane Boufal deserved three points.

Kicked long from West Brom. Booted away by Lemina.

Now Southampton can break. Boufal. To Austin. Austin rounds the 'keeper... Post!

So close to a second goal. Just seconds remaining.

Tony Pulis is bouncing around on the touchline. His West Brom side just can't get the ball. This has been a very professional finish from the Saints.

    Southampton 1-0 West Brom

That was Sofiane Boufal's his first goal in 23 Premier League games. Surely one of the best he's ever scored.

Can West Brom conjure up one last chance? We're into four minutes of added time.

  20. ouch!

That goal gets better and better every time you see it. Worth the wait Southampton fans?

Boufal's skill had two Baggies defenders clattering into each other and on their back side. Brilliant stuff.

To make matters worse for Tony Pulis his side are going to finish with 10 men. Having made all three subs, Craig Dawson is limping off.
