The form of these two sides mentioned below gets me to our first talking point of the game.

With the sacking season already under way and Ronald Koeman and Slaven Bilic under big scrutiny, will Tony Pulis and Mauricio Pellegrino be feeling the heat?

Surely not. They're two teams who started the weekend 10th and 11th, right?

But then again West Brom have won just twice in the last 17 games and Southampton last won at home in August.

Let me know what you think.

Goals have been a real problem for Southampton at home throughout the year and this weekend's meeting with West Brom hardly promises a hatful.

It has the lowest goals-per-game ratio of any fixture in the Premier League to have featured in at least seven seasons.

Last week's 2-2 draw at St Mary's with Newcastle wasn't too bad though. A familiarly frustrating first half - full of decent possession but no end product - turned into a lively, more direct and much improved second 45 minutes.

Mauricio Pellegrino will no doubt hope they continue in a similar vein.

What of Tony Pulis' team? Well, Albion haven't won a game since August and will hope to get something here given that three of the next four games are against Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham.

Hello there! How you all doing?

Are we in for a cagey affair today?

Southampton and West Brom are two of the Premier League's out of form sides. The Saints have won just one of their last six and the Baggies are six games without a win.

There is just a point between them in mid-table and both have won just twice in their eight Premier League matches this season.

They also both drew last week but in contrasting manners with Southampton twice coming from behind to draw 2-2 against Newcastle and West Brom being pegged back late against Leicester.

If the day so far is anything to go by, there will still be goals...

    Crikey.

This has been quite some Saturday so far hasn't it?

Goals and drama everywhere. Can Southampton v West Brom live up to it?
