Everton 0-0 Arsenal
Almost a brilliant goal! Arsenal play some wonderful, Arsenal football, Mesut Ozil's touch into the path of Aaron Ramsey is classy, Ramsey shoots first time and it's about a yard wide.
So close!
Everton 0-0 Arsenal
Mesut Ozil's first touch of the game, he ends up on his backside as Idrissa Gueye slams into a tackle. Exactly what the home fans wanted to see.

Wayne Rooney gives Gylfi Sigurdsson three hefty thumps in the chest as Everton prepare to kick- off. For all the questions about Rooney, he has actually been one of Everton's better performers this season.

Ronald Koeman's had a close shave. He'll be hoping this isn't a close shave for him.

Almost game time on this stormy Sunday.

The storm clouds that were gathering over Goodison Park when I arrived here at 11am appear to be subsiding. But will that be the case for those gathering over manager Ronald Koeman’s time at Everton?
While across Stanley Park, Liverpool celebrate their now famed Fab Four, one Everton fan I spoke to at the club shop told me he’d settle for a drab draw: Anything other than another home defeat.

Nobody has told the Everton groundstaff that we've had a storm brewing for the last three or four days. The sprinklers have been on full beam for at least an hour.

This is a big day for Everton manager Ronald Koeman - his team kick-started last season when Ashley Williams headed a last-minute winner against Arsenal here at Goodison Park.
Koeman will be hoping for the same again today because there is no doubt his position will come under increasing sympathy with another defeat.
There is a subdued mood around Goodison Park at present but we can expect the usual hostile atmosphere around kick-off time.
Everton and Koeman will hope the hostility is reserved for the opposition rather than them at the end of 90 minutes.

Fifteen years ago Wayne Rooney announced himself to the footballing world with that stunner against Arsenal in this fixture in 2002. For all that he’s achieved in his career I wonder what he’d give for the winner in today’s fixture. He adorns the club shop and the front of today’s match day programme.

Former England midfielder Jermaine Jenas believes the Everton child-carrying supporter who was involved in a confrontation with a Lyon player during Thursday's defeat at Goodison Park should not be banned for life.
Everton's Ashley Williams sparked the melee which saw an Everton fan - carrying a small child - appear to push Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes.
Jenas described the fans decision to get involved as “absolutely ridiculous” and “completely irresponsible”, but says it’s a “shame” Everton have taken the decision to ban the individual from attending all future club fixtures.

It would be strange if Wayne Rooney didn't allow himself a moment for reflection and recollection.
The kid from Croxteth turns 32 next Tuesday, whilst the famous wonder-goal against Arsenal which announced him to the world came almost exactly 15 years ago.
'Remember the name!' crooned commentator Clive Tyldesley - we had little choice!
Everton were keen to partner Rooney with Olivier Giroud this season - perhaps there would have been less pressure on Ronald Koeman now had they got that deal over the line?
Giroud was the last Arsenal striker to score a league goal away from home. The fact that this goal came five months ago is not something they'll be proud of.

Former Everton midfielder Leon Osman: "Some of the Everton kids have just won the Under-20 World Cup. Instead of picking Jonjoe Kenny he has picked Martina and Holgate [Kenny starts today].
"It is restricting the players. Despite players being young, they understand the club and the new players are still learning that."
New York Times journalist Rory Smith: "The shame for Everton is that signing all these players means that this group of young players who they have been excited about for so long have had their path blocked."
Koeman or McFadden? You decide...

Former Everton midfielder Leon Osman: "It would be very hard for Moyes to go back. With all respect to David, who I like, he has failed at his last three jobs. He knows how the club is run, though, and how to get the fans on side. I have seen stranger things.
"Expectations are different. When Moyes went from his first season of success at Everton to the second season he didn't sign many players on a shoestring budget. Ronald Koeman has been given money and signed players. Expectation is a lot more than what has been delivered.
"Ronald Koeman has changed a lot of his squad. Eight, nine, 10 changes. And they are expected to immediately understand his system."
New York Times journalist Rory Smith on reports Koeman eats first in the club canteen, then the players: "Some managers like the hierarchical thing. It is the same as Louis van Gaal - he eats first in the canteen. When things go wrong, everything is analysed and things that are open to be criticised are criticised. Winning games is the only answer."
