It could get worse before it gets better for Everton as Alexis Sanchez heads into the side-netting. Again, the Everton defence were nowhere near him.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman looks like a man who has run out of luck and could soon be running out of chances. Idrissa Gueye’s red card was about as unwanted as trick-or-treaters on your doorstep on Halloween night.

    Head shaking, arms folded.

But will his team fold now they’re down to 10 men? He’s shuffling his pack - off go Wayne Rooney and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. On come Oumar Niasse and Ademola Lookman. The fans didn’t like the changes and they’ve shown their feelings - the ground is about 2,000 fans lighter than it was five minutes ago.

There is a lack of belief all around Everton, the players don't look convinced by what they are being asked to do and what they are being asked they are not doing with any belief. There are an awful lot of things that need to change.

I tried to make a case for this being one of Everton's better displays up until the second Arsenal goal but since Mesut Ozil headed home they have faded horribly.

No real sign of life out there in blue. If you're making Neville Southall cry it's time to recap.

Arsenal have brought on Jack Wilshere, as Aaron Ramsey almost gets in behind again. he wants a goal, and he deserves one today. It's Mesut Ozil who almost has the fourth though, in space again but well tackled by the resolute Tom Davies.

Do you worry about Everton going down? I haven't seen three worse teams.

I don't understand what Everton are trying to do? There are a lot of good players but no structure, no system to speak of. It is not enough to just get men behind the ball.

GOAL - Everton 1-3 Arsenalpublished at 74 mins

    Alexandre Lacazette

Everton are wide, wide open and Arsenal make some additional hay in the Merseyside sunshine. Alexis Sanchez frees Mesut Ozil down the right, Michael Keane is between a rock and a hard place and he goes to the ball, Ozil finds Alexandre Lacazette and he buries from 15 yards.

Ah, a better touch from Alexandre Lacazette and Aaron Ramsey would be in on goal but it's too heavy. Arsenal are looking more likely.

    Tottenham v Liverpool (16:00 BST)

Tottenham make three changes from the draw in Madrid as Kieran Trippier, Son and Dele Alli start. Kieran Trippier on the left? Or a back four?

Liverpool look like they are playing James Milner in midfield as Simon Mignolet, Joe Gomez and Jordan Henderson come in.

    Full team news to come.

Tottenham: Lloris; Sanchez, Alderweireld, Vertonghen; Trippier, Winks, Eriksen, Aurier; Son, Kane, Alli

Liverpool: Mignolet; Gomez, Matip, Lovren, Moreno; Milner, Henderson, Can; Firmino, Salah, Coutinho

Ronald Koeman is shaking his head. Gueye has not gone through. It is a legitimate challenge for the ball but he is late and it is not the kind of challenge he needs to make, especially when you are on a booking. Koeman must be looking at it and thinking 'there is absolutely nothing going my way'.

  17. RED CARD - Idrissa Gueyepublished at 69 mins

    Everton 1-2 Arsenal

He's been on the tightrope for a while. Off.

Idrissa Gueye is a nano second late in midfield and catches Granit Xhaka on the foot. Not a bad foul but enough for a second yellow and Everton are down to 10.

Nothing Jordan Pickford could do about that Mesut Ozil goal. Arsene Wenger used that moment to give the Arsenal faithful a rare touchline glimpse of their manager.

Full of claps and appreciation for Alexis Sanchez and Ozil who combined for Arsenal’s second, which at the moment looks like giving Wenger a favourable birthday celebration this evening.

We are back up and running as Dominic Calvert-Lewin has his nose patched up. Aaron Ramsey does well again for Arsenal to break in behind but good tracking from Tom Davies wins the Gunners a corner.

Everton are going to have to play the game a bit higher up the pitch and take more risks. Arsenal are being allowed to play out from the back and are control the game. They are first to every ball.
