  1. CLOSE!published at 56 mins

    Manchester City 2-0 Arsenal

A rare mistake from Ederson, and it's nearly costly. He spills a shot from Alex Iwobi, the ball squirming from his gasp and heading in! He grabs it on the line, and is bundled into the back of the net by Aaron Ramsey. A clear foul, but a warning sign maybe.

  2. Postpublished at 54 mins

    Manchester City 2-0 Arsenal

Francis Coquelin gambles on the halfway line as he meets Kevin de Bruyne, and wins it perfectly. Miss that tackle and City would have been in on goal.

Arsene Wenger is still ticking like a clock to fourth official Andre Marriner.

Monreal has been a bit naive after a great touch from Sterling to take him across the defender. A clearcut penalty. Then, when Aguero stepped up, he was the coollest person at the ground. He's stroked it in off the post and it was impossible to save.

It's the worst possible start to the half for Arsenal, who were furious at that penalty decision.

Lucky or perfect? Sergio Aguero side-foots his penalty against the inside of the post and in. Another one to add to the record books.

This may depend on your age but how close would David Silva get to a place in your 'all-time Premier League XI?'

He must be close. Dictating play at the start of the half. Apparently there was a video shown at half time of messages to Sergio Aguero and Silva said 'where would you be without my assists?'

    Fair.

I believe that United know how to get over the line, I don’t think Mr Mourinho cares about how they get over the line.

All he cares about is winning games and getting silverware.

It's not often you need the sprinklers on in Manchester in November. Strange weather today - it's gloriously sunny at the moment. It will be dark in about an hour.

Thursday's 3-0 dismantling in Lyon ended Everton's interest in the Europa League and made it four defeats and two cup exits inside the past fortnight.

It also surely ended any lingering hopes David Unsworth had of taking charge on a more permanent basis, having presided over three of those losses.

There's every chance Watford will prove to be awkward guests this weekend too. They had enough chances to have beaten the champions Chelsea in their last away match and, despite losing 4-2 at Stamford Bridge, have won three times in five attempts on the road this season.

Chelsea v Manchester United (16:30 GMT)

5 November. A date to commemorate plotting and scheming, and an appropriate one for Jose Mourinho to be trying to take down his old establishment in London.

He seems to be at his plotting best at the moment too, with every word and action very deliberately calculated to further his aims for Manchester United.

His beef right now is that United deserve more praise than they've been getting for their defensive strength. Merely a sign of the state of the game? Right around Europe, defending seems 'so last season'.

After meltdown in Rome, Chelsea need to get back to their defending of last season.

Missing the shield of Nemanja Matic? We'll see.

Yousuf: Are you sure Sanchez hasn't signed for City? Every City counter attack seems to start with him.

Mat: Remember when Chamberlain wanted a move to Liverpool so played for them vs Arsenal. Sanchez is doing the same today.

Ray: Is Sanchez aware that he hasn't joined City yet? He's started about 4 of their counter attacks.

David: Alexis body language all wrong. He is a liability and shows no interest in playing for us. Change for Lacazette now.

    Manchester City 1-0 Arsenal

    Trevor Sinclair

The scoreline is about right. City deserve to be in front, maybe by two. Arsenal have stuck in there and been resolute. City have moved the ball well and the game has been really entertaining.

So far so good for Manchester City, who are 45 minutes away from breaking the record for successive victories in all competitions by an English club.

They are currently level with Preston and George Graham's Arsenal with 14.

    Manchester City 1-0 Arsenal

    Trevor Sinclair
Ex-England and Man City winger on BBC Radio Manchester

I wouldn't criticise City but I would just say they have needed to be a bit more clinical today. I'm talking slight percentages though. City have been brilliant so far. When they lose the ball, it's like an insult to them and the intensity with which they win it back is superb.

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 45 mins

    Manchester City 1-0 Arsenal

Ederson comes to the party! Alexis Sanchez is given a lost cause to chase and holds it up superbly. He finds Aaron Ramsey on his left, he tucks inside and hits a low shot which is really well clawed out by the Brazilian. Would Claudio Bravo have let that in?
