Into the last five minutes. Palace found a late leveller last week and are firing men forwards. Spurs look a threat on the break every time too. More goals?

Son tries to do the keeper with his eyes. He's got Vertonghen next to him and if he lays it back to him then it's 2-0. Vertonghen doesn't get there too often - judging by his reaction to not receiving the ball, it's important it's given to him next time!

He's in again! Son through on goal again as Palace get stretched all over the pitch. This time he hesitates, Mamadou Sakho gets across and makes a tackle.

Got to score! Son has had a bad game all things considered, yet his goal may prove to be the winner. Jan Vertonghen sends Son in on goal with a great ball through, he has so much time and space.

He's into the area, tries to beat Julian Speroni at the near post but can only find the side-netting.

Did you see Callum Wilson's miss for Bournemouth yesterday? Very similar.

Wilfried Zaha skins Danny Rose brilliantly. On his day he is so talented, Zaha. Will he get a crack at a 'big four' club again one day? Just needs to improve his end product.

You can't be man of the match every week but miss an open goal at 0-0.

Kyle: Lovely finish from Son, cruel on Palace but if Spurs grind out a win here it would be a huge victory for them.

Viv: This is what happens when you don't take your chances! Crystal Palace lacking enough clinical finishers. Need to step up to stay up!

  9. Sanchez could have been a Cityzenpublished at 13:35 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2017

    Man City v Arsenal (14:15GMT)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

Manchester City had a deadline day bid for Alexis Sanchez accepted in August, only for the deal to collapse when Arsenal failed to complete the signing of Monaco's Thomas Lemar.

It is understood City boss Pep Guardiola remains interested in the Chilean and it is not out of the question he may make a further bid for Sanchez in January, even though the forward is out of contract and will be available for free in the summer.

In the meantime, Sanchez is in the visitors' line-up today aiming to improve a record of three goals in seven games against the Blues, including the FA Cup semi-final winner at Wembley in April.

I captained Harry Kane in my fantasy football team so obviously he's coming off having done the square root of nothing.

Mamadou Sakho makes a tackle which is the very definition of last ditch. There are three Spurs men clean through on goal if he doesn't make it.

Zaha does so well to work his yard but for some unknown reason he doesn't take his chance to shoot and puts his attempted pass out of play for a goal kick. He got himself into a great position again but he could have helped himself to two goals today.

Manchester City make two changes from the side that won away to Napoli in the Champions League in midweek. Kyle Walker and David Silva return, with Danilo and Ilkay Gundogan making way. Gabriel Jesus has to again make do with a place on the bench, with Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane either side of Sergio Aguero.

Arsenal made 11 changes for their Europa League draw with Red Star Belgrade, so return a more familiar XI. Alexis Sanchez is asked to lead the line against the side that coveted him in the summer, with Alexandre Lacazette on the bench. Alex Iwobi and Francis Coquelin come in to a side that looks to have stiffened the midfield.

Manchester City v Arsenal (14:15 GMT)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

Record breaker Sergio Aguero returns to the Manchester City starting line-up this afternoon, with Gabriel Jesus making way.

The pair started five of the first six games together this season, but have now done so only twice in 11.

Pep Guardiola says the pair can play together. But they don't do it that often nowadays.

    Tottenham 1-0 Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace had that five-minute spell when they could easily have scored a couple of goals. Wilfried Zaha's miss is a real sickener.

Into the last 20 minutes now, can Spurs finish this one off? Harry Kane almost gets a shot away but it's well defended before Zaha wastes a shooting chance at the other end.

Exactly what I was just talking about. You show a bit of ambition and all of a sudden Spurs pick you off. In fairness though, it's a taken a touch of class to break Palace down. Son bends and loops it between three players - it starts two yards outside the post when he hits it. A sublime bit of skill. Palace, with all due respect, should have been ahead and now they're behind.

    Conundrum answered.

Spurs lead! Harry Kane finds Danny Rose, his shot is blocked and squirms out to the right, a low cross is knocked back out to the edge of the area and Son hits a wonderful left-footed shot into the top corner.

Spurs haven't played anywhere near their best today but now they lead.

I think Pochettino will be pleased if Palace come out and look like they're going to have a go at Spurs. It's not ten men behind the ball anymore and all of a sudden the game might open up and give Tottenham more chance of getting a result. It's a conundrum for Roy Hodgson what to do.
