N'Golo Kante is back at the heart of Chelsea's midfield and the man with two successive title winners' medals here and at Leicester City is already showing what an influence he can be.

Referee Anthony Taylor is at least bringing Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho closer together - they are both unhappy with a lot of his decisions.

The balance seems to be good in this Chelsea side today. Bakayoko and Fabregas have been let off the leash with Kante back and Herrera has got a massive job on his hands to keep control in that area.

Tiemoue Bakayoko with a trip on Ander Herrera in the opposition penalty area.

The Frenchman has started this game like a man possessed, he is everywhere.

Remember, he is on a booking so will not be given too many more chances by referee Anthony Taylor.

  12. CLOSE!published at 16:53 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2017

    Everton 0-0 Watford

First real chance of the game for the hosts.

Full-back Leighton Baines calls Heurelho Gomes into action for the first time with a smart save.

Toffees front men Wayne Rooney and Oumar Niasse were both involved in the build-up to that move.

    Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

    Phil Neville
Former England & Man Utd defender on BBC Radio 5 live

The intensity and determination is of the highest standard. Both teams here know that they need to win. The referee has to manage this game effectively because it's being played at such speed that there are going to be mistimed tackles. He can't be giving bookings for every foul.

  14. Postpublished at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November 2017

    Everton 0-0 Watford

Kiko Femenia makes an inviting run up the right but can't keep the ball in play, and the Watford full-back tumbles down the side of the pitch and into the adverstising hoardings.

It's fairly even so far and there's been no real chances on goal in 20 minutes.

That was some strike from Eden Hazard and de Gea pulled off an outstanding save with Morata just in front of him. A great chance for Fabregas on the rebound. He has half the goal to aim at but can't find the target. Could be 2-2 at the moment.

Having had to do a bit of defending at the back, Chelsea make their way up field and force another corner.

Eden Hazard cuts in from the right and rockets a left-footed shot which is arrowing towards the top corner, bit David de Gea watches it all the way to push it away.

On the follow up, Cesc Fabregas heads into the sidenetting.

Half the ground thought that was in.

Lively stuff in the first 15 minutes and Chelsea manager Antonio Conte spun around waving his arms in fury when Tiemoue Bakayoko missed that glorious opening.

The Italian is prowling his technical area constantly while his Manchester United counterpart Jose Mourinho is just making the occasional appearance.
