Southampton striker Charlie Austin, speaking to Sky Sports: "Going in at half-time 1-0 down we were not good enough in the first half, but we stepped up in the second and looked like we were going to nick it. Instead it's a point away from home going into a big December."

Nathan Ake could have been the hero at the end. He just got up a little too soon and got to much underneath it. Both teams were wasteful, Forster made some good saves in the first half an Begovic was busy. It's a point a piece and a fair result.

You do see it on the odd occasion, it was a bit of butterfingers. Goalkeeper-esque

It's a great delivery from Bertrand and Austin has out jumped two defenders and all day long you would expect him to hit the back of the net.

  16. CLOSE!published at 81 mins

Ah that should be 2-1 Southampton!

Ryan Bertrand puts in a superb first-time cross, the type which sunk Everton last week, but this time Charlie Austin's header is just too high and the ball flies into the crowd behind the goal. Big, big chance for a winner.

A big question mark as to whether or not Callum Wilson would have been onside or not - I'm not really sure

  19. CLOSE!published at 76 mins

    Chance! Was he onside?!

Joshua King swivels inside the area and gets a shot away, Fraser Forster makes the save but can only push it out to Callum Wilson. It comes at him fast, it hits Wilson on the shins and bounces away. He couldn't react but that was a real chance...
