More on that olde worlde BBC Sport match report (11:32) of snowy Tromso v Chelsea, 1997...

Jason, Norwich: Loving the retro match report, particularly the mention for the oft-forgotten Chelsea striker Jan Luca Vialli! Always seemed to get overshadowed by his twin brother...

Poor Jan Luca never got the recognition he deserved.

Swansea are nailed-on for relegation at the minute. I fear for Huddersfield, they are starting to slip. Their lack of goals fear me the most. Then it's a battle for the third team. I can see it coming down to a big battle between West Ham and Newcastle. Rafa Benitez is singing the right tune but when you look at their squad, it's a miracle they're not already down there.

I can't see Stoke getting dragged into it.

I don't think Tony Pulis would take the Swansea job and tarnish his record of not getting relegated from the league.

Huddersfield boss David Wagner is likely to choose from an unchanged squad, with Martin Cranie hopeful of recovering from a minor ankle problem.

Rajiv van La Parra serves the final game of a three-match ban, while Michael Hefele, Philip Billing and Jon Gorenc Stankovic remain injured.

Brighton have no new fitness concerns.

Midfielder Steve Sidwell is still sidelined by a back problem but he is the only player unavailable for the Seagulls.

What's the worst weather you've played or watched a game in?

Thomashollern: Worst game ever that I remember playing was on a gravel pitch, in hailstones with an old style Mitre moulded ball. Game went to extra-time, everyone got covered in grazes and then got back to the changing room to find there was no hot water.

Swansea v West Brom (15:00 GMT)

Federico Fernandez, who has missed Swansea's last three games after flying to Argentina following the death of his father, is not expected to feature.

He played for the under-23 side on Thursday to build his match fitness, so Mike van der Hoorn will continue to deputise for him.

West Brom welcome back Matt Phillips and Chris Brunt from respective hamstring and thigh injuries.

Gareth Barry misses out after suffering a muscle problem last weekend.

The game also comes too soon for Craig Dawson, although the defender has resumed training after a knee problem and is close to a return.

    West Ham v Chelsea (12:30GMT)

BBC Sport at the London Stadium

David Moyes would probably be wise to ignore recent history if he wants to remain optimistic ahead of today's London derby.

Of the last 22 Premier League meetings between West Ham and Chelsea, the Hammers have won just two and drawn on four occasions.

Sixteen times they have ended up on the losing side.

Chelsea start today's game 22 points ahead of their opponents.

West Ham v Chelsea (12:30 GMT)

    David MoyesImage source, Reuters

There was a point in the late afternoon last Sunday when David Moyes was being hailed as a managerial genius.

West Ham were leading at Manchester City but the top flight's runaway side came steaming back to win 2-1 and leave Moyes still waiting for his first win in charge of the Hammers.

    His record so far:

    • Watford 2-0 West Ham
    • West Ham 1-1 Leicester
    • Everton 4-0 West Ham
    • Man City 2-1 West Ham

    Will today be the day?

West Ham look a more disciplined, fitter and tighter team under David Moyes but it's still eight league games without a win. The last time they went nine without a victory, in 2011, they were relegated.

If they can rekindle the spirit of their 2016 League Cup success against Chelsea they have a chance, even though they can't score goals.

Chelsea have conceded just four goals in their last seven in all competitions. They were average against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League but showed the reliance that can extend their unbeaten league run to eight games and, if they're cold and analytical, bring a 50th win against the Hammers.

If they get sucked into an old fashioned derby scrap it could be a different story.

In the short term at least, Joe Hart has little option other than to grin and bear his omission from the West Ham starting line-up.

But Hart will be looking very closely at the Hammers fixture list.

It is possible the Hammers could have 15 games between now and 31 January (they have played 18 so far this season).

Hart knows he will get games in that time. Games in which he must impress.

For, if he is still David Moyes' second choice when the Hammers play Crystal Palace on 30 January, he will either need to get a new club before the transfer window closes, or he can forget any hope of even going to the World Cup in Russia with England, let alone playing in it.

Burnley's Robbie Brady is set for a lengthy lay-off after he damaged knee tendons last weekend.

Ben Mee required stitches to a gashed knee at Leicester and is being assessed, while Matt Lowton could miss a third game because of a knee problem.

Watford defender Miguel Britos hopes to return after a fortnight out.

However, the Hornets remain without the injured quintet of Nathaniel Chalobah, Younes Kaboul, Craig Cathcart, Will Hughes and Isaac Success.

    Burnley v Watford (15:00 GMT)

    Match of the Day commentator

    Sean DycheImage source, PA

In August 2011 this fixture was Sean Dyche's first match as a manager, in charge of Watford, and a 2-2 draw represented a solid start.

Dyche spent just one season at Watford; almost the first act of the Pozzo family after their takeover was to replace him with Gianfranco Zola.

With Dyche now five years into a remarkable reign at Turf Moor, Burnley must be eternally grateful to the Pozzos for their lack of judgement.

Watford seem to have found a very decent manager of their own. Marco Silva dealt with Everton's interest carefully - never suggesting he wasn't amenable to the idea of being lured away, without actually agitating for a move.

Meanwhile, Dyche could be forgiven for wondering why Everton weren't making him an offer he couldn't refuse.

  16. Team newspublished at 11:40 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

West Ham v Chelsea (15:00 GMT)

West Ham make three changes from the side that narrowly lost to Manchester City last weekend.

Winston Reid returns for Declan Rice, Cheikhou Kouyate is out with hamstring injury so Mark Noble comes in and Marko Arnautovic replaces Edimilson Fernandes, who drops to the bench.

The big news, though, is Adrian keeps his place in goal, with Joe Hart on the bench.

West Ham XI: Adrian, Zabaleta, Ogbonna, Reid, Creswell, Masuaku, Obiang, Noble, Antonion, Lanzini, Arnautovic.

Subs: Hart, Carroll, Sakho, Hernandez, Ayew, Fernandes, Rice.

Chelsea make just one change from the team that drew with Atletico Madrid in midweek as Marcos Alonso replaces Victor Moses, who drops to the bench.

Chelsea XI: Courtois, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Christensen, Alonso, Zappacosta, Bakayoko, Kante, Fabregas, Hazard, Morata.

Subs: Caballero, Rudiger, Pedro, Moses, Willian, Batshuayi, Ampadu.

    Newcastle v Leicester (17:30 GMT)

    Jamaal LascellesImage source, Reuters

Newcastle could be buoyed by the return of defenders Jamaal Lascelles and Paul Dummett after injury lay-offs of five weeks and four months respectively.

Jonjo Shelvey and Christian Atsu are other likely options if manager Rafael Benitez opts to makes changes.

Leicester have no new fitness concerns, with Demarai Gray fully recovered from his collision with a post when scoring the winner against Burnley last week.

Robert Huth and Matty James are long-term absentees.

Former Liverpool striker on BBC Radio 5 live

I don't think the Spurs manager has got the credit he deserves. He's overachieved. I don't think their squad is anywhere near as strong as the others. They have a good 11 or 12.

They've been unlucky not to win league twice but I think it was inevitable they would have a dip. They need to invest big money.
