United yet to have a shot as David Silva and Raheem Sterling almost complete another intricate one-two on the edge of the area. This can't continue indefinitely surely?

Marcos Rojo's first touch back is just a lump upfield, some of United's play is not dissimilar from Everton's gameplan so far. David Silva is able to find Raheem Sterling inside the area but he's tackled before he gets a shot away.

He's back on - Marcos Rojo has a bandage on his head, new shorts and a new shirt. He's playing on.

I don't think Marcos Rojo will be able to carry on. He took a real whack. Victor Lindelof is doing shuttle runs.

Rojo rips his shirt off, he has a huge egg on his forehead. He wants to carry on.

Manchester City look a threat every time they get into that final third of the pitch.

They just can't get the shots away and when they have done, they've been straight at David De Gea.

Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho share some light-hearted technical area chat after Marcos Rojo and David SIlva clash heads. Rojo is bleeding for sure.

City are either not going to score, or score a superb goal. For the third or fourth time Raheem Sterling dances into the area and tries to construct a one-two in a tiny space. They could play in a phone box some of these lads.

Romelu Lukaku has had five touches. It's a lonely job out there.

    How's your touch keeper?!

Kyle Walker slams a backpass at Ederson under pressure, and from only about eight yards out. The Brazilian kills it, sidesteps Romelu Lukaku and plays it out. Lovely.

"Park The Bus, Park The Bus Man United" a constant refrain from the Manchester City fans gathered in a corner of Old Trafford.

And at this stage it is their team looking more dangerous.

Mourinho reverting to type. Knows Man City are far superior so will concede possession try to soak up and hit on break if possible - yes - park the bus!

Jose bang on about city players. First walker and now jesus going over way too easily.

If that Kompany tackle was a foul I don't want to watch football any more. Great challenge, joke decision from the ref.

Jose Mourinho's pre-match media agenda was all about City players needing only a "little bit of wind" for them to go to ground. That Gabriel Jesus penalty shout won't change a thing in his mind I'm sure.

City still dictating play but United's defence are working superbly. Ander Herrera is everywhere.

Pep Guardiola is in the ear of Gabriel Jesus, giving him some Nathan Redmond treatment. He must be happy with his side's start, but they haven't tested David de Gea enough.

    He takes some beating!

Dave: Right young Rashford - we know you are quick but you need to spend some serious time learning how to do things with the ball at your feet. Weight of pass & accuracy very poor.

It's heating up. Vincent Kompany dives into a tackle and wins the ball, but takes Ander Herrera out as well. Hard. A foul was given. United players swarmed around the ref.

David Silva has a shot at David de Gea, and is that a penalty?!

Gabriel Jesus has been super lively in this opening spell and he goes to ground after another little stepover. Ref Michael Oliver was on the case and waved it away, and he didn't ping Jesus for a dive either.

'Park the bus, park the bus, park the bus!' is the chant from the away end. United actually named a more attacking XI on paper than many were expecting but they are all working hard at the back.
