Shot, a shot from United and it's a semi-decent opening too. Jesse Lingard slides a pass into the run of Romelu Lukaku, he has a lot of work to do and is stood up by Eli Mangala and can only slice wide into the Stretford End from 20+ yards. Could he have driven on into the area?

You wouldn't think that City are playing one of the top sides on this showing.

They are so dominant, every player knows what they are doing and United have not got going at all in attacking areas.

Well played NIcolas Otamendi! Not a sentence used too often but he reads a low cross from Marcus Rashford superbly and cuts it out. A bit more open since half time.

Lovely feet from Gabriel Jesus to weave into the area from wide on the left but his cutback is easily cut out. Kevin de Bruyne then gives the ball away but City recover well once more. It's on a knife edge.

We start as we left off, City having all of the ball. I didn't see an injury problem for Vincent Kompany but we never really know how fit he is at any point any more do we?

Romelu Lukaku isolates Fernandinho - his eyes light up - but Kyle Walker recovers well. City didn't have much defending to do in the first half but they now have a makeshift back four.
