The atmosphere remains raucous here at Molineux - the home fans are in full voice and seem confident their side are going to be sitting at the top of the Championship tonight.

  10. GREAT SAVE!published at 37 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Aston Villa

Finally an effort on target - and it requires a very good save to keep it goalless.

Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves lets fly from fully 25 yards out but Villa goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is equal to it, and parries the ball behind for a corner.

  11. Stam delighted to win at Leedspublished at 18:05 British Summer Time 14 October 2017

    FT: Leeds 0-1 Reading

    Jaap StamImage source, PA

Reading boss Jaap Stam told BBC Radio Berkshire:

"We are all very delighted. If you look at the team and how they have been doing in the last few weeks and months, it hasn't been easy. Everyone wants results and when you don't get results, players think about it.

"We stayed positive and confident in what we could do, and you saw that today - we were composed, didn't give a lot away, created opportunities and controlled the first half.

"In the second half we knew that they would push a bit more because they are playing at home and people are not happy. Sometimes we were a bit under pressure, but we didn't give a lot of opportunities away."

There's been a bit of a lull in the action in the last few minutes at Molineux.

Can anyone find a spark to ignite this game before the break?

  13. Postpublished at 29 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Aston Villa

Wolves have claims for a spot-kick dismissed at the other end as Matt Doherty bursts into the box from the right and goes down under pressure from two Villa players.

Again, their appeals are waved away by the referee.

The hosts are having the better of things, but still yet to test Villa keeper Sam Johnstone.

  14. CLOSE!published at 27 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Aston Villa

Wolves defender Roderick Miranda hits the side-netting with a fierce side-footed effort from outside the area.

The Portuguese centre-back has been in the limelight recently after his challenge sent Jonathan Kodjia to the ground a few minutes ago

The Villa striker had claimed a penalty but it looked firm but fair from the defender.

Kodjia is now getting the boos from the Molineux crowd.

Midway through the first half, and Wolves have had the better of it against Steve Bruce's Aston Villa.

However, we're still waiting for our first shot on target and neither keeper has really been too troubled.

The highlights so far have been Villa left-back Alan Hutton's fine covering challenge to deny Helder Costa a shot, and Danny Batth's header going wide.

Diogo Jota has just run at the Villa defence and had his effort blocked by John Terry.

    Wolves 0-0 Aston Villa

Great ball into the box from the Villa left looking for Robert Snodgrass.

It's just over the Scot's head but he goes down under the challenge of Barry Douglas.

The left-back made his presence felt there, but the referee says nothing doing - no penalty.

  17. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Aston Villa

A decent bit of play for Villa just now as Jonathan Kodjia and Keinan Davis combine.

The Ivory Coast international finds the youngster in the box with a cut-back from the left, but it is just behind Davis and his effort is off target, and blocked.

  18. Postpublished at 17 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Aston Villa

The visitors have their first chance to make something with a free-kick midway inside the Wolves half.

The home side deal with it fairly easily, counter attack and Ruben Neves has an effort that is deflected wide.

From the resulting corner, it looks like Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia raises a boot when Helder Costa goes for a header.

It was right by Costa's forehead - should that have been an indirect free-kick to Wolves inside the area?

  19. Lapses cost Barnsley three points - Heckingbottompublished at 17:45 British Summer Time 14 October 2017

    FT: Barnsley 2-2 Middlesbrough

    Paul HeckingbottomImage source, Empics

Barnsley boss Paul Heckingbottom told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"We were in front twice, so we are disappointed it wasn't all three points. Boro are a very good side and two lapses in concentration cost us two goals.

"If we are realistic, to not be at our best and take a point off Boro is something we should accept.

"I'm not really happy with how we played with the ball today, we could have and should have been a lot better. I probably have to give Boro credit there with how they pressed. They have a lot of good players with experience, nothing is going to faze them."

  20. CLOSE!published at 13 mins

    Wolves 0-0 Aston Villa

Wolves skipper Danny Batth climbs brilliantly to win the header from the free-kick and nods it back across goal.

However, a gold shirt isn't in sight and the ball goes wide of the left-hand upright.

A good delivery by Barry Douglas on the left.
