I'm pretty sure you will have seen or read about Huddersfield defender Matthias 'Zanka' Jorgensen offering to buy all the Huddersfield fans travelling to Southampton today a beverage of their choice. A top, top gesture.

Coincidentally, Cool Runnings - the film from which Jorgensen got his Zanka nickname from - is on BBC One right now. Always worth a watch.

  11. 'Newcastle cancel Christmas party'published at 14:05 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2017

West Ham v Newcastle (15:00 GMT)

    Simon Brotherton
    MOTD commentator

Sunderland fans may have been surprised by David Moyes' bullish claim this week that he could manage any club in the world.

Relegation under his guidance is still fresh in the memory on Wearside, but he has certainly raised hope at West Ham. Seven points from the last nine, with three clean sheets, wasn't the expected outcome from games against Chelsea, Arsenal and Stoke.

This match provides a decent chance of keeping their recent run of success going, with Newcastle on such a wretched run.

Last week's defeat at Arsenal saw them slip into the bottom three and led to the players cancelling their own Christmas party, which seems a wise move in the circumstances.

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on Radio 5 live

Leon Osman worries for Stoke manager Mark Hughes if his side fail to pick up a result at home to West Brom today...

It has been building for months now, the style of football isn't there anymore that the fans were demanding when he came in. Now it's results they need and they don't look like they're going to pick up any results soon. He does have a patient owner but at some point patience does run out.

But thanks to Roberto Firmino, the Reds rescued a point from the ludicrous match.
