  1. 'A fighting chance'published at 19:36 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2017

    Paris St-Germain v Celtic (19:45)

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers on BT Sport: "We know its going to be a really, really tough game for us, but we showed in the last game that if you play with that belief, you can create chances and score goals in these games.

"We feel that if we have dangerous possession and defend strongly, we’re in with a fighting chance.

"We went with two more midfielders keeping us narrow, Callum McGregor on the left and Tom Rogic becoming a central player and fanning out to the right when we have got the ball.

"Scott Sinclair and Stuart Armstrong, after coming back from the international break, have got little niggles around the hamstring and calf, and it’s not a game to risk especially when we have a huge squad and a big game at the weekend (League Cup final)."

  2. 'An awesome force'published at 19:34 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2017

    Paris St-Germain v Celtic (19:45)

    Tom English
    Chief sports writer, BBC Scotland

"Behind the scenes, all the stories are that [the PSG players] are not getting on with each other, but that’s not reflected in any shape or form in their performances, their results or in the goals that they’re scoring. They’re just an awesome force, and Celtic have got it all to do to keep the score down tonight."

  3. 'Wide areas key for Celtic'published at 19:31 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2017

    Paris St-Germain v Celtic (19:45)

    Scott McDonald
Former Celtic striker on BBC Sportsound

"The problem tonight for Celtic is getting the ball. PSG are such a class act and they’ll dominate. And it’s going to be in those wide areas, can Tierney and Forrest get high enough up to support McGregor, Dembele and Rogic?

"They did it with great success against Bayern Munich at home, but it’s a different kettle of fish when you go away, the type of atmosphere they’ll be up against, there's a different mentality as well.

"In my day, we gave up a lot of possession, we knew we were going to have to do the dirty side of the game, park the bus, so to speak, and wait for the right moments with your special individuals talents.

"This is a collective team – they have got special individual players, but as a team, they know the ins and outs of each other, and Brendan Rodgers wants that cog and wheel to always be spinning in the right way."

  4. Will Neymar notch again?published at 19:29 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2017

    Paris St-Germain v Celtic (19:45)

Neymar likes a goal against Celtic...

The Brazilian forward has scored five in five Champions League tussles with the Scottish champions.

The world's most expensive player after a £200m move from Barcelona, Neymar was on target in Glasgow in September and has netted in all four group outings for PSG.

There have been rumours of dressing room rifts and his nightclubbing exploits have generated a few negative headlines but the home fans won't be complaining as long as he keeps banging them in.

  5. Big night for 'big-time' Dembelepublished at 19:26 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2017

    Paris St-Germain v Celtic (19:45)

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

"I was talking to some guys from the French FA today - they say the difference between Olivier Ntcham and Moussa Dembele is that Ntcham is a real top professional, works away, gives nobody any bother, while Dembele needs to be coaxed a little bit.

"But I think he’s a big-time player. He’ll go out tonight and really respond because he’s back in Paris, he’s in the big time.

"He’ll certainly have to play well up on his own tonight."

  6. Spotlight on Dembelepublished at 19:23 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2017

    Paris St-Germain v Celtic (19:45)

Celtic striker Moussa Dembele will be keen to impress. The 21-year-old started his career at PSG before making his way to Glasgow via Fulham.

He's a regular at U21 level for his country but is yet to win a senior cap.

With the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Alexandre Lacazette, Kylian Mbappe, Anthony Martial and Ousmane Dembele ahead of him in the pecking order, it's going to be hard to barge his way into the World Cup squad but an eye-catching display tonight would do his chances no harm.

Dembele missed the 5-0 drubbing at Celtic Park through injury but was fit enough to start last time out against Bayern Munich.

"I believe he has the talent and the qualities to go right to the very, very top," said manager Brendan Rodgers yesterday.

  7. Rodgers looking for performance to be proud ofpublished at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2017

    Paris St-Germain v Celtic (19:45)

Manager Brendan Rodgers believes Celtic will be coming up against the "best of the best" this evening.

Previewing the game yesterday, he told reporters: "If you don't get the result, for us, it is about taking pride in the performance. So that is something we hope we can achieve.

"We understand that we are playing against a team that is arguably the best of the best which is a huge challenge for every team they come up against, not just us.

"Their team has a helluva chance of winning the competition, they have big game experience and quality in every position and that includes the bench.

"We would like to obviously put up a better show in relation to performance and the scoreline. That is key for us and hopefully we can do that."

  8. PSG powerful on their own patchpublished at 19:18 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2017

    Paris St-Germain v Celtic (19:45)

PSG, on the other hand, can boast a home record that is verging on the ridiculous.

    • They haven't lost at the Parc des Princes in 39 matches since a 2-0 Monaco win in March 2016.
    • They haven't lost a Champions League group stage match in Paris since December 2004.
    • In nine home games this season, PSG have scored 32 times, conceding five.
  9. Group record makes grim reading...published at 19:17 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2017

    Paris St-Germain v Celtic (19:45)

Celtic put up a good fight at home to Bayern Munich last time out, only to fall to a 2-1 defeat.

It means the Scottish champions have won just one of their past 19 group stage fixtures in the Champions League or Europa League (D7 L11).

OK, I’ve had worse offices. It’s not quite as impressive as the Allianz Arena in Munich but the Parc des Princes is still pretty special. I was sitting not far from where I am now when James McFadden did the business 10 years ago. Another moment like that tonight would go down nicely.

Craig Gordon may be braced for another busy night but the goalie can take inspiration from a visit to the Parc des Princes a decade ago.

He and Celtic captain Scott Brown both featured in a 1-0 win for Scotland against France, which completed an unlikely double over Les Blues in the race for Euro 2008. (Did we qualify? Don't ask.)

  12. 'The best I've seen'published at 19:04 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2017

    Paris St-Germain v Celtic (19:45)

"Just too good," is a phrase popular with tennis commentators and borrowed by Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon when recalling PSG's visit to Celtic Park.

"I've been lucky enough to come up against some of the best strikers in the world but that was the best I've seen," he said at yesterday's media conference.

"The PSG performance in that first game was sensational... It doesn't really matter what you do in a game if you come up against a team like that in top form."

  13. PSG 'devastating' in Glasgowpublished at 19:01 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2017

    Paris St-Germain v Celtic (19:45)

I know it's cruel, but we do need a quick debrief on PSG's demolition job in Glasgow.

Celtic Park was buzzing with excitement on the opening evening of the group campaign only for the hosts to fall to their heaviest ever European home defeat as Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe turned on the style.

"Celtic have hosted many of the great powerhouses of European football over the years, but even those with the longest memories would probably struggle to recall a side as devastating," wrote our very own Tom English on the night.

"Their speed of thought, speed of movement, accuracy and imagination was extraordinary. Their confidence on the ball - even when playing intricate passes in their own penalty area to get out of trouble - was a joy."

Celtic fans have been busy seeing the sights of Paris, of which there is no shortage.

The the Parc des Princes is in the city's 16th arrondissement, right next door to Roland Garros, home of the French Open tennis and near the Stade Jean-Bouin, home of rugby club of Stade Francais.

  15. 'Celtic can go out and enjoy the game'published at 18:52 Greenwich Mean Time 22 November 2017

    Parist St-Germain v Celtic (19:45)

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Radio Scotland

"Just looking at the pitch in front of us, it’s set up for a high-tempo, quality passing game from both sides. PSG have got the players, the movement, it’s going to be a very, very tough night for Celtic.

"But the pressure isn’t the same – they’ve beaten Anderlecht, they can go out and enjoy the game tonight, as long as they're not on the end of a heavy beating.

"If they can get anything out of this game, it’d be wonderful."

Martin Millar: We will get beat no question imo.. but we can't be beated the way we were at Celtic Park.. show desire.

Robert Galvin: Take 3-1. Big games will be cup final and then Anderlecht.

    Paris St-Germain v Celtic (19:45)

Having overcome a hamstring injury, Jozo Simunovic returns to bolster Celtic's central defence - his first appearance since the 3-0 win over Anderlecht back in September - with Nir Bitton benched.

The Bosnian international forms part of a back-three for Brendan Rodgers' men, alongside Mikael Lustig and Dedryck Boyata, with James Forrest and Kieran Tierney deployed as wing-backs.

Olivier Ntcham and Tom Rogic come into midfield for Stuart Armstrong and Scott Sinclair, both of whom are among the substitutes.

Bonsoir mes amis... How do Celtic approach this one? With trepidation is one rather obvious answer.

Paris St-Germain lead Champions League Group B with a 100% record, scoring 17 goals in those four wins - with five of those coming in Glasgow in September.

Brendan Rodgers's side cannot progress to the knockout phase but PSG can't relax yet if they want to make sure of top spot, with Bayern Munich just three points behind.

Will the superstars of PSG sparkle in the City of Lights or can Celtic spring a bonne surprise?
