    Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea

There are more goals in this. Tiemoue Bakayoko tries to get on to a ball over the top inside the penalty area, but a saving challenge from Ainsley Maitland-Niles keeps the score at 1-1. Top work from the defender.

  2. 'Needless challenge'published at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2018

    Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea

Cool as you like, fabulous penalty. He waited for Cech to dive and put it in the other corner. Needless challenge, he didn’t need to make it.

  4. PENALTY to Chelseapublished at 21:07 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2018

    Arsenal 1-0 Chelsea

Eden Hazard fouled by Hector Bellerin. Penalty to the visitors. Hazard to take it.

  5. 'Fabulous strike'published at 21:07 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2018

    Arsenal 1-0 Chelsea

    Danny Mills
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 live

Fabulous strike, Courtois had no chance. He was stretching as well. People will say it has gone in at the near post, but I think he had no chance with that.

  6. goal

GOAL - Arsenal 1-0 Chelseapublished at 63 mins

    Jack Wilshere

Arsenal have the breakthrough. Jack Wilshere starts the move, Mesut Ozil plays it into Rob Holding, who sends it back to Wilshere and the England international does the rest.

He releases a powerful strike which beats Courtois at the near post. Arsenal delight.

MIchael Ball: Wenger whines about referees, gets some huge decisions his way. Same before the Spurs game too.

Staffs: Arsenal should have at least 10 if not nine men on the pitch, ref having a shocker.

Lewis Starks: How can we stamp out diving if refs bottle a second yellow and therefore a red for a dive? Lucky boy Wilshere

  8. Postpublished at 60 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Seeing that Wilshere 'foul' again (see 55 mins). And it looked like he was already on his way down to the ground before Andreas Christensen got to him. Wilshere has already been booked. A second yellow for simulation would be a rubbish way to get sent off.

My main worry is that if/when Sanchez and Ozil leave for free, where will we find the money to replace them? In today’s market we’d need £100-150m to get players in of comparable quality, and the owner has already made it clear he will not invest a penny of his own money. It’s possible that our Europa League or Carabao Cup sides could be our first team next season (+ Lacazette, who must be wondering what’s going on!).

We have the slowest, most immobile central defence in the league and who do we have on the bench....Mertesacker!

As an Arsenal fan I do not understand the complaining about Morata. His touch is brilliant, his movement and awareness impossible to combat. Even Mo Salah misses plenty of opportunities but nobody seems to criticise him. I would swap Lacazette for Morata in a heartbeat.

  10. SUBSTITUTION - Zappacosta on for Mosespublished at 56 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

A change for Antonio Conte, with Davide Zappacosta going into the right wing-back role vacated by Victor Moses.

  11. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Arsenal look like they should have a free-kick right on the edge of the penalty area. Jack Wilshere may have been fouled by Andreas Christensen but nothing is given. Things are getting heated. We've had six red cards in the last seven meetings between the sides. Another one today?

  12. YELLOW CARD - Holding (Arsenal)published at 53 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Rob Holding was lucky to not get cautioned a few minutes ago, but this time he does see yellow for a blatant foul on Cesc Fabregas.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 52 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

For the third time this match, Thibaut Courtois produces a wonderful save. Alexandre Lacazette was through after a delightful spin to get himself away from Gary Cahill, but Courtois stayed tall and managed to deny the Frenchman.

Abdul Said: If passing game and playing in the middle do not work, Giroud should come on and Walcott to put the crosses in.

Ari Sudil Puchon Bhu: Bring Zappacosta for Moses as he's clearly carrying a knock and replace Bakayoko with Drinkwater. I hope Mr Conte is reading this.

Danny Hacking: I believe Chelsea should beat Arsenal in the second half, but it will be close.. Arsenal may need to rely on set pieces to win

Chelsea have started the second half brightly, Conte clearly got at them at half-time.

  16. Postpublished at 50 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Two good saves from Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech in a matter of seconds. The first stop denies Eden Hazard with his legs, the ball is recycled into the box and Cech gets down well again to push away Marcos Alonso's downward header, when the ball was creeping inside the post.

Rob Holding is too slow to deal with Alvaro Morata and clips the heels of the striker. It should be a booking, but Anthony Taylor's card stays in his pocket on this occasion. Lucky for Holding.

  18. Postpublished at 47 mins

A promising position sees Marcos Alonso able to send in a cross from the left wing, but it is a waste and comfortably dealt with by Calum Chambers at the near post.

Tom McQuillin‏: As a Spurs fan I hate to say it with these two... but that was a brilliantly entertaining half of football.

Waѕiyullah Budye: What a lively first half. Both teams creating chances! We could see raining goals in the second half.

Kunjan Punatar‏: So nervous going into half time. Arsenal unlucky and careless but thankfully Chelsea has been wasteful. Need to step it up second half. This game is for the taking. #COYG.
