Not much love for Alvaro Morata after that missed one-on-one chance.

John Southworth: Morata is fantastic in the air but he needs to work on his shooting. Missed a few sitters this year.

LifaNati: Morata might be the best at heading the ball but he's been awful with his feet.

Jared Maobe: Chelsea let's appreciate the fact that we do not have a striker. Even at his worse, Torres could have scored what Morata missed there.

A chance for Chelsea, but Tiemoue Bakayoko, meeting a Cesc Fabregas right-wing corner, gets his header all wrong and steers it well over the top.

Andy White: Both sides trying to imitate Barcelona but not quite managing it. Lump it up to a big centre forward I say.

Tom Pigden: Arsenal back three actually group I wanted to see play together more this season; potential long term trio. But in cup games, not a must win game against Chelsea. Most likely they get killed tonight and Wenger buries another experiment before giving it a chance.

  4. GREAT SAVE!published at 21 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Arsenal come close again. Mesut Ozil plays it into the feet of Alexandre Lacazette, who is 12 yards out with his back to goal. The Frenchman spins superbly, his marker Gary Cahill slips, Lacazette shoots low at goal, but Thibaut Courtois does fantastically to get down quickly and get a hand to it to keep it out.

Seeing that penalty appeal again, and Ainsley Maitland-Niles trips himself up. Victor Moses is not close enough to make any contact and the Arsenal man is lucky to not get a caution for diving. Either that, or he was just clumsy.

Incredible save. It was a toe poke from six or seven yards out by Sanchez and Courtois gets a right hand to it, it hits the post and it rolls across the line.

Maitland-Niles threw himself to the floor, Anthony Taylor does not give it. I think it was a dive.

  7. HITS THE WOODWORK - Sanchezpublished at 15 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

An incredible minute of football. Ainsley Maitland-Niles goes down in the penalty area under a challenge from Victor Moses. Arsenal want a penalty, referee Anthony Taylor says no.

Chelsea then fail to clear the ball properly and it falls to Alexis Sanchez who pokes an effort at goal from eight yards out.

Thibaut Courtois gets a hand to it, pushes it on to the left-hand post, the ball rolls right along the goalline, hits the right-hand post and stays out. Chelsea survive. By the smallest of margins possible. That has to go down as a great save by the Chelsea keeper.

  8. WHAT A MISSpublished at 14 mins

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

How has Alvaro Morata not made it 1-0 to Chelsea?

He is released straight through the middle of a non-existent Arsenal defence and he is through on goal with only Petr Cech to beat. Morata shoots from the edge of the penalty area, but makes a complete mess of it, screwing his shot well wide when he should have scored.

Once again Eden Hazard has the ball in the danger zone, and he goes a weaving run, but Arsenal, through sheer number of players behind the ball, manage to freeze him out. This time.

Just under 10 minutes gone and this ground isn't full.

I know some people are still making their way in but there's a lot of empty seats in the top and middle tier.

Good play between Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez. The latter looks to send it back to the German, but the return ball is just overhit and the chance comes to nothing.

  14. CLOSE!published at 7 mins

So close. Alexis Sanchez's free-kick bounces off Gary Cahill in the wall. Thibaut Courtois is wrong-footed, but luckily for him the ball drifts just past the post. Arsenal waste the corner and Chelsea escape unscathed.

Free-kick to Arsenal in a dangerous position, almost central 30 yards out after N'Golo Kante fouls Alexandre Lacazette. Danger for the visitors.

Adrian Li: Defence is amateurish. No chance tonight. Had three days to sign a defender and Wenger has failed.

Doctor Joker: Arsenal are looking good recently, I reckon a win for them.

Sulaiman Badamasi: Holding and Chambers against Eden and Co? Elneny seems a better option

Already Eden Hazard looks a threat. A quickly-taken free-kick has Arsenal napping and it falls to Hazard, who jinks into the box and sends in a low cross, which is hacked away for a corner, which comes to nothing.

  20. A landmark for Cech?published at 19:44 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2018

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech could tonight become the first goalkeeper to keep 200 clean sheets in the Premier League.

The 35-year-old helped Chelsea win four Premier League titles, as well as the Champions League, during an 11-year spell with the Blues before joining Arsenal in June 2015.
