Thank you to Phil Cartwright - that was a real see-saw of a match to whet our appetites for what's to come.

No time to sit back and reminisce though, as 31 EFL games have just kicked off up and down the country.

We have 10 Championship games coming up and not much time before kick-off - so rather than telling you the names of all 220 players starting for their sides, here's the headline team news:

    • Reading midfielder George Evans returns to the Royals' line-up against Bristol City after three months out with a thigh injury, with Yann Kermorgant missing out.
    • Cardiff striker Kenneth Zohore makes his first start since October against Fulham, who will play winger Ryan Sessegnon in a more advanced position this afternoon.
    • Freddie Sears makes his first start since November as Ipswich make five changes to face QPR.
    • Leeds forward Samuel Saiz misses out again through injury for the trip to Burton, but Eunan O'Kane returns in place of Kalvin Phillips.
    • Teenage Norwich defender Jamal Lewis makes his first professional start at Birmingham City.
  3. FULL-TIME: Millwall 2-2 Wolvespublished at 14:59 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2017

All over at The Den, where it's honours even. A great contest and a fair result in the end.

Is that the time?! It's 15:00 GMT, which means it's time for me to hand over to James Law and Josh Hunt.

    Millwall 2-2 Wolves

Barry Douglas strikes it well but it's a good save from Millwall goalkeeper Jordan Archer.

Matt Doherty heads the resulting corner over the bar, and that looks to be that.

  5. YELLOW CARD (Hutchinson)published at 90+3 mins

    Millwall 2-2 Wolves

Millwall's Shaun Hutchinson is booked for bringing down Diogo Jota 25 yards from goal.

    A last-gasp chance for Wolves...

    Millwall 2-2 Wolves

Why can't all games be this open?

Millwall almost create a chance from a set-piece, Wolves break and Alfred N'Diaye fires over from 20 yards.

Now Millwall have another corner with four minutes added on...

But goalkeeper John Ruddy comes out to claim a cross and is fouled. Danger averted for the leaders, who will be eight points clear at the top of the Championship if there are no further goals.

  7. Owls search for new bosspublished at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2017

Nottingham Forest v Sheffield Wednesday (15:00 GMT)

    Carlos CarvalhalImage source, PA

Middlesbrough's 2-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday was followed by not one, but TWO managerial casualties.

The comeback victory at Hillsborough wasn't enough to save Boro boss Garry Monk, whose departure was announced a few hours after the final whistle.

Then on Sunday it was confirmed that Carlos Carvalhal would be leaving Sheffield Wednesday after two and a half years in the job.

Coach Lee Bullen will be in interim charge for the Owls' visit to Nottingham Forest today.

    Millwall 2-2 Wolves

Still anybody's game at The Den. Both sides aren't content to settle for a point.

  9. Postpublished at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2017

Goals elsewhere - in League One, Southend are 3-1 up against Charlton and Gillingham have levelled against Oxford.

And in League Two, Lee Angol has equalised for Mansfield at Grimsby.

  10. Postpublished at 81 mins

    Millwall 2-2 Wolves

A third and final substitution for Wolves, who bring on Alfred N'Diaye - a central midfielder - for winger Helder Costa.

Costa, who hasn't played too much this season because of ankle surgery in the summer, has set up both goals for his side today.

Millwall make a change too - Ryan Tunnicliffe is on for Aiden O'Brien.

  11. Robins thrive at Christmaspublished at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2017

Bristol City v Reading (15:00 GMT)

    Lee JohnsonImage source, Getty Images

There's a massive feel-good factor around Bristol City at the moment and history would suggest that'll continue after today.

The Robins haven’t lost at home on Boxing Day in any of their past 22 matches (W13 D9) - their most recent Boxing Day defeat at Ashton Gate came 55 years ago, losing 2-1 to Brighton in 1962.

Reading will argue that is meaningless - and they'd be right - but Jaap Stam's men have it all to do against one of the Championship's in-form sides.

  12. Postpublished at 76 mins

    Millwall 2-2 Wolves

What a pearler of a game to start today's EFL action, and there's still more twists and turns to come at The Den, I'm sure.

You can follow live text coverage of all of today's EFL matches on the BBC Sport website and app.

    Jake Cooper

Millwall's pressure from corners finally counts!

Jake Cooper has gone close a couple of times already today and he finally finds the net with a header from two yards out to equalise for the hosts.

It's all to play for now!

  14. Rams hold upper handpublished at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2017

    Hull v Derby (15:00 GMT)

    Michael HectorImage source, Empics

Derby have double the points of their hosts today, Hull, and are 16 places above them in the Championship table - making them firm favourites this afternoon.

What's just as compelling is that in league matches not including play-offs, Derby have won their last three against Hull by an aggregate score of 11-0, winning 5-0 at Pride Park in September.

The Tigers may argue their play-off semi-final win was the most important though, as it helped them reach the Premier League last year.

  15. YELLOW CARD (Coady)published at 69 mins

    Millwall 1-2 Wolves

A change in defence for Wolves. Big Frenchman Willy Boly is replaced by Roderick Miranda.

Meanwhile, Wolves go close when Diogo Jota is denied by Jordan Archer, and then Wanderers captain Conor Coady is booked for thwarting a Millwall attack illegally.

  17. Sessegnon's streakpublished at 14:28 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2017

    Cardiff v Fulham (15:00 GMT)

Second-placed Cardiff will be keeping a close eye on events at The Den, with Wolves set to go 10 points clear of them at the top of the table.

    Ryan SessegnonImage source, Getty Images

Fulham may not have won a league game at Cardiff since November 1996, but in Ryan Sessegnon they have a talented forward who's been a thorn in the Welsh side.

The 17-year-old has scored in all three of his games against Cardiff in all competitions, scoring once in each match.

What a streak that would be to keep up!

  18. Postpublished at 62 mins

    Millwall 1-2 Wolves

Millwall are threatening the Wolves goal again with a succession of corners, but Wolves survive.

Steve Morison is on up front in place of Tom Elliott for Millwall.

An interesting 30 minutes ahead in what's been an excellent game of Championship football.

  19. Postpublished at 59 mins

    Millwall 1-2 Wolves

A win today will take Wolves up to 57 points after 24 games.

They only got 58 in total last season.

    What a transformation.

    Romain Saiss

A minute after being booked, Romain Saiss puts Wolves in front!

Helder Costa does brilliantly for the visitors, pulling the ball back for Morocco midfielder Saiss to find the top corner from 25 yards.

Wolves will go 10 points clear at the top of the Championship, for a couple of hours at least, if they can hang on.
