Wolves are strong favourites to claim one of the two automatic promotion places in the Championship this season, but behind them it's anything but straightforward.

Cardiff occupy second spot at the moment, although Derby and Bristol City are chasing hard and only three points behind the Welsh club.

Four successive league wins have lifted Derby up to third, while the Robins have won seven of their past 10 games to be right in the hunt for a top-two finish.

All three promotion chasers are in action at 15:00 GMT.

  2. YELLOW CARD (Saiss)published at 55 mins

    Millwall 1-1 Wolves

Wolves midfielder Romain Saiss goes into the book for pulling back Jed Wallace - his former team-mate at Molineux.

TTB: He'll hopefully do enough to stop Boro getting relegated. He doesn’t have a great win ratio at 35.7%.

Chris Bramley: Waking up in New Hampshire to great news re Boro and Tony Pulis. Off to listen live with new spirit as the family scour the sales.

I guess it's somewhat reassuring to know that 'Boxing Day sales' are a thing elsewhere in the world...

    Millwall 1-1 Wolves

Millwall make their first change, with Mahlon Romeo replacing right-back Conor McLaughlin.

Meanwhile Oxford, thrashed 7-0 at home by Wigan on Saturday, have gone ahead at Gillingham in League One.

    Millwall 1-1 Wolves

Millwall have started the second half brightly.

First, it was good goalkeeping from Wolves' John Ruddy to prevent Lee Gregory converting George Saville's pass.

From the resulting corner, Jake Cooper can't find the target.

Back under way between Millwall and Wolves, who served up an entertaining first 45 minutes.

Wolves have made a change at the break - Ivan Cavaleiro was hurt in the build-up to Wanderers' equaliser and he's been replaced by Leo Bonatini.

While I keep you up to date with the latest from The Den, I'll also preview some of today's 15:00 GMT kick-offs.

Douglas Nelson: It's the manager merry-go-round. Get fired, get new job, fail, get fired again, get new job, increase salary, fail... I want to be a manager.

Anon: Pulis is a great coup for Boro. With this squad he’ll get us up and keep us there. I’d be happy with a few years of mid-table Premier League.

    The pitfalls of Christmas deadlines.

I wonder whether new Boro boss Tony Pulis will take a read of Garry Monk's programme notes from the stands at the Riverside this afternoon...

There are three other 13:00 GMT kick-offs across the EFL this afternoon, with Southend 2-0 up at home to Charlton in League One thanks to goals from Simon Cox and Michael Turner.

It's goalless between Gillingham and Oxford, while in League Two, Grimsby lead Mansfield 1-0 at half-time.

Gav Kandola: 5am wake up in California to watch Wolves. No day off for me so straight to the office after this.

Richard Bayliss: Following Wolves from Perth, Oz. After suffering England's WACA defeat please don't make me suffer another disappointment.

Is that any better for you, Richard? Maybe Wolves can even claim all three points from behind...

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:52 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2017

    Millwall 1-1 Wolves

And that's that for an entertaining first half at The Den.

Lee Gregory's goal on the counter attack put Millwall ahead but Diogo Jota's equaliser has sent the sides in level at the break.

It's been a excellent game so far. Let's hope for more of the same in the second!

  14. goal

GOAL: Millwall 1-1 Wolvespublished at 45+3 mins

    Diogo Jota

Wolves equalise just before half-time and Diogo Jota reaches double figures for the season.

With team-mate Ivan Cavaleiro down injured, Helder Costa turns his man near the right touchline and crosses for Jota to score from close range.

    The leaders are level.

    Millwall 1-0 Wolves

As we enter added time at the end of the first half, Millwall almost add a second goal as defender Jake Cooper heads wide from a corner.

Somehow there's only been one goal in an open first half at The Den.

  16. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Millwall 1-0 Wolves

Wolves have rested their top scorer, Leo Bonatini, for today's game and are playing with a fluid front three of Diogo Jota, Helder Costa and Ivan Cavaleiro.

They have created chances but haven't been able to finish one off yet.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Brazilian striker introduced in the second half if Wolves continue to trail.

You heard him, Wolves. Do it for Dylan! Anyone else away for Christmas and planning to track their side's progress from afar?

  18. YELLOW CARD (McLaughlin)published at 34 mins

    Millwall 1-0 Wolves

Wolves have been on top since Lee Gregory's opener, but Millwall are showing they're a threat too.

George Saville puts a ball into a dangerous area but it doesn't fall kindly for a blue shirt and Wolves just about clear.

In the next passage of play, Millwall's Conor McLaughlin fouls Barry Douglas and is booked.

    Millwall 1-0 Wolves

    Neil HarrisImage source, Getty Images

Neil Harris' Millwall are on course for their third consecutive home win at The Den, where they have already claimed some notable scalps this season.

The Lions have beaten Leeds, Sheffield United and Middlesbrough - among others - on home soil this term. Could Wolves be about to be added to that list?

    Millwall 1-0 Wolves

    Mel Eves
Former Wolves forward on BBC WM

It's the type of game I expected. Millwall were going to have a go, they've got a great record at The Den and you can see why.

They probably deserve to 1-0 up but Wolves have had their chances.
