Mixed views on Sanchez's performance so far...

babyboomer201: So many Man Utd passes going astray. Maybe the fault is with the positioning and running of the receivers, not the passers.

emailromain: All the hype about Sanchez! Losing possession, misplaced passes, etc etc.. will be sub'ed 60th minute without scoring! Needs time to blend with the team no matter how good a player you are!

RossTheHarper: Sanchez's energy is infectious! Reckon it could do wonders for Utd - they've been far too sedate since Fergie left

    'What a waste of money!'

A classic terrace chant rings out as Alexis Sanchez overcooks a crossfield pass straight out of play.

Oh dear! I felt that one up here. Alexis Sanchez will bounce back up from that Nathan Smith challenge.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:26 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2018

    Yeovil 0-0 Man Utd

My word, welcome to League Two! Nathan Smith has just absolutely mowed down Alexis Sanchez from behind, a really rash and stupid challenge. The defender is booked and he's lucky it's only yellow.

Sanchez took a real battering there but shakes it off. He takes the free-kick but it's saved.

Yeovil look a little scared of the ball. It is a big night from some of these young men with the television cameras here and illustrious opponents, but they are hitting it too long, too early.

But the home side certainly have not been embarrassed in the first 25 minutes.

Alexis Sanchez is getting some flak on social media for his display so far but he's being influential - only Michael Carrick has been on the ball more, though he has lost the ball 13 times so far.

That was a unbelievable save. They worked it perfect United, and it was an early shot by McTominay. But Krysiak gets down really well to turn it wide.

That was an excellent save from Artur Krysiak. it was a clever attempt by Scott McTominay, but the goalkeeper read it well.

Not exactly a warm welcome for Sanchez on his United debut...

robwattsf1: Why are the Yeovil Town fans booing @Alexis_Sanchez, external every time he gets the ball? Did he turn them down before joining United?

Chr1s_K1: You know we made that brilliant video to announce Alexis as our signature signing for the window... well his debut is Yeovil away.

  10. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:21 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2018

    Yeovil 0-0 Man Utd

What a save that is! Alexis Sanchez is heavily involved, dribbling in from the left and then playing a brilliantly-weighted pass into the run of Scott McTominay, breaking into the area. His first touch tames the ball and he then sidefoots into the bottom corner, he must think that's in but Artur Krysiak makes a phenomenal one-handed save to push it past the post!

    Brilliant.

There's a lot of optimism in the stands around me. I don't think many of Yeovil's fans expected them to start as well as this, in relative terms.

Wednesday are buoyed by that goal and go close again, Morgan Fox hammering in a shot with his left foot which is well saved.

    Bit of news from elsewhere...

Manchester City target Aymeric Laporte was left out of Athletic Bilbao’s La Liga game against Eibar tonight.

It had been anticipated Laporte would be involved before joining City before the transfer deadline on Wednesday.

It is not thought an agreement is in place as yet but City are confident the deal will go through.

Aymeric has a £57m release clause, which would be a club record if City pay it.

    Yeovil 0-0 Man Utd

Yeovil have started very well but as we say that Manchester United have a lengthy spell of patient possession of their own. Michael Carrick is conducting from deep midfield but after stretching the lower league side from left to right and back again, it comes to nothing.

Marcus Rashford breaks into the area but runs out of turf.

And Jermaine isn't the only one who's liking what he sees from the underdogs...

Thomashollern: It's great to see Yeovil trying to play a bit of football and not just defending deep, parking the bus and hoping for the best. Refreshing approach from the underdogs.

GassingPirate: Sanchez losing the ball every time. New team, nothing changes. Yeovil player for player on top at the moment. Keep it up

Rob2k: Nice to see @YTFC, external starting brightly against @ManUtd, external The young lad #Greeen, external has some pace!
