Man City are rattled! Nicolas Otamendi gives the ball away in a poor position and Sadio Mane is so unlucky there - his curling effort just strikes the post.

  3. 'World class finish'published at 17:19 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2018

    Liverpool 2-1 Man City

    Robbie Savage

Wow! World class finish! John Stones cannot be shrugged off the ball there if you're a England centre-half. Roberto Firmino has nudged Stones off the ball and then he has the audacity to dink the ball over the oncoming Ederson. What a brilliant finish.

GOAL - Liverpool 2-1 Man Citypublished at 59 mins

    Roberto Firmino

    That is superb!

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain drives through the midfield and plays the ball in behind John Stones, Roberto Firmino is too strong for the England man, barging him out of the way, and Firmino then chips Ederson from the left-hand side of the area, the ball spins in off the inside of the post.

    What a great goal...

Too much criticism of Liverpool's keepers, there are only so many exceptional keepers in the world.

It's still relentless. Kyle Walker's header clear is not great and Sadio Mane dives on it, working a yard of space and shooting but well charged down by John Stones.

  7. Ederson's pair of great savespublished at 17:15 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2018

    Liverpool 1-1 Man City

Two great saves from Ederson. He's made the save from Mo Salah from the corner, and then at his near post to deny Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

And now almost a fluke from Mo Salah, hitting a cross into the wind and watching it float over Ederson's head and on to the top of the bar!

I wonder how much Peter Shilton, Ray Clemence and David Seaman would be worth in today's market?

  10. CLOSE!published at 55 mins

    Liverpool 1-1 Man City

Sadio Mane wins a corner well again, Ederson can only palm it don and Mo Salah's shot is pushed clear by the Brazilian.

Liverpool work it to their left, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain gets a shot off and Ederson makes another good save down to his right!

  11. Robertson has the beating of Sterlingpublished at 17:12 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2018

    Liverpool 1-1 Man City

    Robbie Savage
Ex-Leicester City & Wales midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

It's been a good battle down Liverpool's right side, and so far Andy Robertson is beating Raheem Sterling for me. The left-back has good pace and awareness, and he's had the better of Sterling so far.

  12. Postpublished at 53 mins

Almost! Kevin de Bruyne's influence is growing and he flashes another good ball in from the right, Joel Matip does really well to prevent Sergio Aguero from finding it though.

At the other end, Emre Can almost plays in Roberto Firmino, but Ederson is out of his area to clear. On a knife edge.

Liverpool need a keeper. Joe Hart needs a full-time club. Man City want to shift him... Let's do the maths.

Joe Hart who can't get into West Ham's side, yep...

  14. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 50 mins

    Liverpool 1-1 Man City

Corner at one end, corner at another. Kevin de Bruyne carries the ball 40-odd yards, finds Raheem Sterling, on to Sergio Aguero, his shot is blocked away.

And off the bar! Nicolas Otamendi leans back but wins the header, flicking it on to the top of the crossbar with Loris Karius well beaten. He didn't even dive...

  15. Mistakes will infuriate Klopppublished at 17:08 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2018

    Liverpool 1-1 Man City

    Robbie Savage
Ex-Leicester City & Wales midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

This game is being played at such a high pace. Looking back at Man City's goal, Joe Gomez was poor letting Leroy Sane get on the ball, then Joel Matip was poor letting Sane get round him, and then Loris Karius was poor with the attempted save. It was a few errors in quick succession, and that will infuriate Jurgen Klopp.

Good work from Sadio Mane on the left to win Liverpool a corner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's delivery sis a good one but it skips through the goalmouth.

Who you selling Mignolet to though Harry?

The £100m goalkeeper eh? Can't be long until we get one. This game has restarted at the same crazy pace.

Sell Mignolet. Spend 100m on Oblak. £40m on Mahrez and get De Vrij on a free to partner van Dijk. Sorted.

    Someone tell Jurgen quick!

Lovely stuff from the Liverpool front three to combine neatly but John Stones gets a shin in the way to deflect the ball clear and Kevin de Bruyne can set the visitors on their way.

Liverpool had eight attempts to City's four in the first half, both sides had two on target.
