  1. SUBSTITUTION - Delph offpublished at 31 mins

    Liverpool 1-0 Man City

He clearly wasn't fit and Fabian Delph does now hobble off. Danilo will play at left-back.

First sort of test for Loris Karius, and he does well to come and claim a cross from in front of the waiting Sergio Aguero.

I'd take Fabian Delph off - he's not moving right - I don't think he can carry on. Danilo is stripped off and ready, he'll be his replacement.

Sadio Mane has had a good start, he's lively on the left and a long move ends with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain overclubbing a ball from the right.

Johhny Magrinho: Sadio Mane just isn’t the same player as he was last season. His anticipation has been questionable in the last couple of games and looks to be a yard or two off the pace. Very frustrating - without Phillipe Coutinho we need him more than ever.

Phil: The way the luck has gone Man City's way this season, they'll get a dodgy penalty or free-kick to save them late on, again.

Both sides will struggle to keep this level of intensity up. There's no rest to be had anywhere,

I'm not sure what happened to Fabian Delph - but it looks like they're going to have to make a substitution - Mikel Arteta has got his notepad out. Danilo's stripped off - he was ready to come on - but Delph has waved them away.

Is he coming off? Fabian Delph looks like he will be, Danilo is ready to come on, but at the last minute the board is put away and the England man returns.

Sadio Mane works a neat one-two on the edge of the Manchester City area but Gini Wijnaldum's reverse pass is no good.

Fabian Delph is down, hurt, off the ball. I didn't see what happened but he needs treatment. Here it is - Delph slid in and his leg got stuck in the turf, straightening out his knee.

Great play from Leroy Sane, he's picked up the ball out wide and driven into space, Liverpool didn't get out to him quickly enough - but luckily for them Dejan Lovren's got a deflection on it.

They share the same dentist, I believe.

City pressing now, Leroy Sane finds a pocket of space on the edge of the box and lashes in a shot, deflected away by Dejan Lovren's hip.

I think Bobby Firmino is very underrated. He's like Dirk Kuyt with skill.

Akintunde: Teams that are not scared of playing football are the only one with a chance of beating Manchester City, I hope Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte are watching.

Joseph: Clearly the only way to stop Man City is by pressing and hassling them. Why couldn't other teams do this? Is it that hard?

Still a very good game to watch. Manchester City having a strong spell of possession but they haven't had a shot yet.

    Robbie Savage

Liverpool are showing a real attacking intent here, and that goes right back to Loris Karius in goal, releasing the ball early. Most sides would want their keeper to hold onto the ball for a minute against Man City, but Liverpool are going for it and it's making for a great game.

  16. CLOSE!published at 19 mins

Raheem Sterling is still being booed by his former fans, but he looks very sharp. He nearly gets in behind Dejan Lovren again but the Croatian makes a good sliding challenge.

Oooh! De Bruyne then flashes a telling ball across goal and the sliding Sergio Aguero is very close to turning it home.

Oliver Viney: Was not convinced when Liverpool signed the Ox but must confess he has got better and better. Klopp's influence and wanting to better himself by leaving Arsenal - a mid-table team - both massive factors.

Babatunde: What a bright start for Liverpool - clinical strike from Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Ederson could play in midfield couldn't he? Wonderful stuff from the City keeper, first playing an inch-perfect pass out wide and then taking a pass from Nicolas Otamendi and calmly playing it out between Sadio Mane and Mo Salah. Class.

    Robbie Savage

It's a great game this. The entertainment level is so high. Mo Salah's driven into the box and he just couldn't get a proper shot off - he's toe-poked it wide. What a start to the game and at this moment in time - Liverpool are controlling the game.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has scored as many goals in 20 Premier League appearances for Liverpool than in his last 71 appearances for Arsenal.

Sorry, Gunners fans. Not a great day for you I know.
