  1. CLOSE!published at 34 mins

    Chelsea 1-0 West Brom

A quick look at the stats shows me Pedro has played 17 passes so far today and only 47% have found the target. That's the worst completion rate on the pitch and points to a bit more care being needed if he's to make an impact.

Antonio Conte is cupping his hands around his mouth and shouting instruction. Maybe he's just read this and is asking Pedro to pull his finger out.

Nice work ethic from Davide Zappacosta who wins a corner by forcing a ball off Matt Phillips who was trying to shield the ball out.

In comes the corner, it's headed across goal and Olivier Giroud tries to hook over his head from six yards... almost. Not quite enough on it.

    Chelsea 1-0 West Brom

On the stats alone you'd have to say Chelsea deserve the lead but in terms of intent, West Brom have brought a fair bit to this opening 30 minutes.

Grzegorz Krychowiak cuts in from the right and hits left footed but the effort swirls away to near the corner flag.

So everyone can calm down now then. Antonio Conte isn't going anywhere after all.

West Brom cause a scare in response as a header tests Thibaut Courtois - only for the flag to go up.

The away side win a corner from their next attack though. Chris Brunt is over it. It's low and poor. Cesc Fabregas lashes it for a throw.

  4. Double figures hit...published at 20:28 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2018

    Chelsea 1-0 West Brom

That's Eden Hazard's 10th league goal this season and more importantly he's in my fantasy football team.

He has 10 or more league goals in four of his last five seasons for Chelsea.

    A go-to man.

Olivier Giroud is backing in on the edge if the box and there's a give and go with Eden Hazard. Giroud offers that focal point and presence, it's a lovely weighted pass back to Hazard and it's a composed.

GOAL - Chelsea 1-0 West Brompublished at 25 mins

    Eden Hazard

That last entry called on West Brom to keep him quiet but this goal sums up just how hard that is to do.

Eden Hazard gets on the ball 25 yards out and burrows between challenges before playing a deft ball into the feet of Olivier Giroud in the area. Giroud acts as a wall to return the ball to Hazard who lashes a right-footed shot across Ben Foster.

    Pick it out. Beautiful.

    Chelsea 0-0 West Brom

Eden Hazard has had 11 touches in this first 23 minutes. That's one of the lowest marks in the Chelsea team. If West Brom can keep him quiet they may well have a chance.

  8. Chelsea increasing the tempopublished at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2018

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Stamford Bridge

West Bromwich Albion started confidently and Chelsea looked out of sorts. It was very quiet inside an edgy Stamford Bridge. Baggies' boss Alan Pardew's shouts - and colourful complaints - could be clearly heard above the crowd.

Chelsea, however, have increased the tempo and are starting to threaten.

  9. One touchpublished at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2018

    Chelsea 0-0 West Brom

Daniel Sturridge touched the ball just once before he went off injured inside the opening three minutes.

It was this moment where he ended up going down before disappearing down the tunnel with a facial expression which screamed frustration.

Olivier Giroud has to score. It's really clever from Eden Hazard but I think Giroud is just on his heels and he didn't expect it.

Eight yards out, it wasn't coming too quickly - it's a gilt-edge chance.

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 20 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 West Brom

Victor Moses attacks the right flank and wins a corner off Kieran Gibbs. It's taken short to Eden Hazard - he spells problems.

Low cross - he's placed that as if something has been worked on on the training ground - Giroud with a chance...saved.

The Frenchman had acres there and side footed low, forcing Ben Foster to save with his legs. Should have scored.

The delivery from Cesar Azpilicueta is wonderful - he's done it so many times this season. Davide Zappacosta drifts in at the back post and Ben Foster makes a smart save.

  14. GREAT SAVE!published at 17 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 West Brom

Chelsea should be ahead. Cesar Azpilicueta with the cross, Olivier Giroud stretches but gets little on it. Coming in at the back stick though is Davide Zappacosta who MUST SCORE.

He side-foots against the body of the sprawling Ben Foster who pulls out a cracking save from around six yards.

They are working hard West Brom in possession and out of it. They are not letting Chelsea get any rhythm yet...

  16. Postpublished at 15 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 West Brom

West Brom look composed as a long ball goes into Olivier Giroud on halfway. He's marked and there's also a West Brom shirt on the cover so they easily get the ball back.

Patient play follows as several passes don't even get them over halfway. When they do, Cesc Fabregas nips in and gets caught.

A strange start this. Chelsea look to build but West Brom have a good shape so far and look hard to play through.

  17. Cyrille's impact at the Bridgepublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February 2018

    Chelsea 0-0 West Brom

The last time West Brom won at Stamford Bridge in a top-flight league game a certain Cyrille Regis played up top and netted in a 3-1 win.

Regis died in January at the age of 59. You wonder if he will be looking down from a good seat somewhere tonight and cheering the Baggies on?

I thought Jay Rodriguez had to take that into the box but elected to shoot. That's a big chance for West Brom. It was a poor header by Victor Moses who did well to track back.

Oh Jay Rodriguez, what a chance.

The clearance from a Chelsea corner gets Victor Moses in a tangle and his header puts Rodriguez clear. He has time and should probably take another touch to progress into the area but elects to shoot early. The result is a dragged effort which goes wide.

That is a glorious opening. Surely you have to take them here?

Pedro avoidsa few challenges and finds Eden Hazard who caresses a pass wide to Victor Moses. He jinks, crosses and hits the first man. Chelsea come forward again though and Olivier Giroud causes a few issues in the box to win a corner.

This is better from the home side. Short corner though isn't great and West Brom hoof clear.

Big chance on the break here...
