Kyle: Lovely finish from Shaqiri hopefully we will now see a more exciting second half as this first half has been dire. Awful game to watch, though Stoke won't be bothered about that

The crazy world that is the bottom of the Premier League means that, as things stand, Stoke are leaping up to 15th.

All over the field Leicester need to raise their game. They've been poor in and out of possession. So far it has all gone to plan for Paul Lambert.

Stoke City will be pleased by the way they've defended and now they've scored. It just takes that one moment, that one opportunity. Xherdan Shaqiri was in such space. He received it on the half turn, ran forward and just curled in nonchalantly around Kasper Schmeichel.

You cannot give Shaqiri that much time and space. He has done what he's in the Stoke team for.

Such is the nature of the Premier League in 2018, the Stoke fans are waving a Switzerland flag in the away end. And why not? It was a great strike from Shaqiri.

Two minutes of time added on at the end of the first half. There's a few frustrated shouts of encouragement from the home fans as Leicester try to grab an equaliser before the break.

    Xherdan Shaqiri

What was I saying about Xherdan Shaqiri...

Wilfred Ndidi loses possession in his own half and Shaqiri runs towards goal. No-one closes him down - dangerous against a player who loves a strike from distance - and he duly hits another long-ranger into the bottom-right corner.

    Stoke are ahead!

    Leicester 0-0 Stoke

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Stoke have tried to come forward but have lacked any quality. Xherdan Shaqiri has been too deep. He's not been in a position to threaten bar one pass.

Jamie Vardy has had nothing to run onto. Leicester have probably looked the most dangerous when Kasper Schmeichel has had the ball and he's pinged it out to Riyad Mahrez early.

Very lively performance by Riyad Mahrez so far. He has had 37 touches of the ball - more than any other player.

Stoke, meanwhile, have not got their dangermen like Xherdan Shaqiri in it yet.

Kasper Schmeichel bowls the ball out with venom for Riyad Mahrez to chase but Bruno Martins Indi gets across well to deal with it. Martins Indi needed to be right on it because otherwise Mahrez had a clear run at goal.

Every player came over for a drink during that stoppage. It's incredible I've never seen a drinks break on a freezing cold day before.

There's a break in play as Badou Ndiaye is down injured. Several players head straight towards the dugout to grab a quick drink. I'd be asking for a coffee in this weather. Freezing.

Better by Riyad Mahrez as he curls the ball behind the Stoke defence. It's inviting, but the visitors manage to put it behind for another Leicester corner.

Again, though, Leicester fail to make the most of the set piece. Disappointing.

  18. 'Poor decision by Mahrez'published at 13:02 Greenwich Mean Time 24 February 2018

    Leicester 0-0 Stoke

That was the first time Leicester have had the opportunity to counter-attack. It was two versus two. Riyad Mahrez cut inside and took on the shot from 25-yards. I think it was a poor decision by Mahrez.

  19. CLOSE!published at 30 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Stoke

Decent chance for Leicester as they counter following a Stoke free-kick. Riyad Mahrez has space on the right and also Jamie Vardy making a run into the box but Mahrez goes for glory and shoots wide. Vardy might have been the better option there.

    Leicester 0-0 Stoke

Joe Allen turns on the style as he slides in to cut out a pass to Riyad Mahrez, then gets up and weaves away from two Leicester players before pinging a ball over the Foxes' defence. It's three on two and looking promising for Stoke as Mame Biram Diouf chests down, but he is flagged offside. That's a tight call.
