  1. 'Wanyama at his best'published at 12:28 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2018

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

    Steve Claridge
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Victor Wanyama is at his best when Tottenham are under pressure, and he has to break the game up, not when he's expected to be creative. When he's able to concentrate on his own job, see the danger, and deal with it, he's a class act.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

Alexander Sorloth beaten to this long Wayne Hennessey goal kick, Serge Aurier outmuscles him.

Now the ball falls to 20-year-old debutant Aaron Wan-Bissaka - filling in at right-back. He takes his turn to launch up the pitch and find no joy, Spurs squeeze the home side into a mistake again.

Vincent Wanyama checks inside Christian Benteke and is hauled down in midfield. The edge has gone out of this for now.

  3. 'Sorloth still finding his feet'published at 12:26 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2018

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

    Steve Claridge
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Alexander Sorloth is still finding his feet in this game, and in the Premier League really. It just doesn't look like he totally understands his role in this team.

  4. 'Kane will look to rectify earlier chance'published at 12:25 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2018

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

    Steve Claridge
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live

There's no doubt Harry Kane will look to rectify that earlier chance, because everybody in the ground, bar Wayne Hennessey, thought that was a certain goal when it came to Kane.

Mauricio Pochettino has his arms folded under his body. Looks a bit grumpy here, with his side having gone into themselves a bit after a really bright start.

  6. 'Tough ask for Wan-Bissaka'published at 12:23 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2018

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

    Steve Claridge
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live

It's a tough ask for Aaron Wan-Bissaka to make his debut at right-back, when he normally plies his trade as a winger. He's up against Erik Lamela, who's a really tricky customer, and of course, Ben Davies will be overlapping all afternoon, too.

  7. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

Erik Lamela - rejuvenated - darts past two men on his 100th Premier League appearance for Spurs.

Ah but he gives the ball away here. Palace with a lot more bite in midfield now. Then Lamela dives in with a hasty challenge on Andros Townsend. Clearly I wrote too soon.

Tanish: One poor season and Dembele will look less than ordinary to pundits. Be moderate in praise or criticism, guys!

Luke: Any other team and that's a penalty. I think the refs have got fed up being deceived by the Spurs players this season and don't want to be conned, safer not to give them any.

  9. Half of two halvespublished at 12:20 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2018

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

Tottenham with 74% of the possession inside the opening 15 minutes, with most of that inside the Palace half of the field.

All 11 of Palace's players have spent most of the time inside their own half, with Spurs clearly on the front foot.

  10. 'Palace growing into the game'published at 12:19 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2018

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

    Steve Claridge
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Crystal Palace have three up front, but when they do have the ball, the wingers are tucking in, and it's so narrow. When they do that it effectively leaves Christian Benteke on his own. But they are growing in confidence, they're feeling their way into this game, they're showing a little bit of ambition.

Nice play from Palace! It comes from a sloppy Eric Dier pass but Andros Townsend does well to cut inside (did you need me to tell you that?) and find James McCarthur on the edge. His first-time shot is blocked by Davinson Sanchez.

Spurs were in trouble there - for the first time in the match.

  12. 'Alli needs goals'published at 12:18 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2018

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Tottenham

    Steve Claridge
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Dele Alli needs goals, that's the role he plays. Playing in the number 10 he almost has to score goals to warrant his place, but it's 11 games he's gone without one now.

Anon: Clearly string theory explains Dembele... plays the ball like a yoyo

Jonathan: Van Aanholt is shocking! He’s lost the ball every time he’s touched it so far.

Dele Alli beats the Palace offside trap but he can't beat the bounce of this ambitious Christian Eriksen long ball. Totally cut the defence in two. Wayne Hennessey is lucky that carried to meet him and away from Alli as he claims on the edge of his box. Alli's hair wasn't far from contact.

Mousa Dembele is an excellent player physically, and ability-wise, too. He deserves all the plaudits he's got over the last few weeks.

This is all Tottenham. Zippy passing and tricky movement in the sunshine. One-touch between Ben Davies, Dele Alli and Erik Lamela, before Timothy Fosu-Mensah intervenes and lumps the ball up the pitch. A bit of breathing space for the home side, Spurs are heating up.

Another Christian Eriksen curled free-kick. This time Wayne Hennessey arcs himself up to meet the Dane's cross - not quite cleanly, it was at the second, mid-air bite. Should settle the nerves though.

While it is a blow having any of your players out, I think Palace's 12(!) injuries shade Spurs being without a couple. Just compare the line ups!

I'm just looking at that Ben Davies tumble again. How is that not a pen? Wayne Hennessey clearly caught him...

Palace need to steady themselves here. This has been a ragged start.
