    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace have lost their past five Premier League meetings with Tottenham, scoring just one goal in the process.

    BUT...

They've also lost just one of their past 10 home matches in the league, winning four and drawing five.

After looking back on all this acrimony between Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte I reckon this could be a decent shout:

Are Mauricio Pochettino and Roy Hodgson possibly the nicest two managers in the league?

I do believe there is a dark side of Hodgson interview clip out there, but on the whole I mean. And Pochettino always seems in a good mood.

Spurs have been in impressive form in the Premier League and Champions League against some very strong opposition and if they continue playing like that then they will be too strong for the Eagles.

    Prediction: 0-2

Arunay: All this praise for Pochettino is getting out of hand. Rochdale would like a word!!

James Veecock: How does Dele Alli keep making the Spurs team? Has Pochettino been watching the same games as the rest of us?

Mark:I made a point of following Pogba when he came on in the week and for large parts he looked totally disinterested.

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham have won an unrivalled 15 points in 2018 and are the only side yet to lose in the Premier League this year.

Their only defeat in their past 13 league matches came at Manchester City on 16 December. Fair enough then.

    Manchester United

I didn't realise their record was this bad: Manchester United have won just one of their past 14 matches in all competitions against Chelsea, drawing five and losing eight.

They have lost more Premier League games (18) and conceded more Premier League goals (67) against the Blues than they have against any other side in the competition.

When I worked at Chelsea at the academy Jose Mourinho was the manager at the time, so I got to know him briefly during that period, and was intrigued by him as a character and a personality.

A couple of times I have come up against Antonio Conte and Chelsea. Both winners, both very determined characters. Antonio very passionate on the side line, Jose a little bit calmer these days. There's been a bit of a war of words gone on between the two, so I’m sure it will be quite a frost meeting.

The Blues have got some outstanding players and put in a really good performance against Barcelona on Tuesday but there is something not quite right with them at the moment.

I don't trust them to play the way they did against Barca every week, and I do not see them repeating their win over United in November.

    Prediction: 2-0

Man Utd v Chelsea (14:05 GMT)

Both managers sensibly and diplomatically downplayed their feud, external in Friday's press conferences. There's a game to be played, watched and (hopefully) enjoyed.

To do that, we might have to appreciate the tactical rather than free flowing side of things, as demonstrated by disciplined - although quite different - displays in Europe this week.

Chelsea put in a better performance, but United got a better first leg result.

It ought to be tight and it's almost certain to be tetchy, with enough history and side issues to put a soap to shame.

Does Pogba start with a point to prove?

Will Hazard get the rough stuff again?

And then there's the touchline to keep an eye on. Best of luck to fourth official Andre Marriner!

Former West Ham midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker: "Jose Mourinho needs to support Paul Pogba more. Because he is such a high profile they expect so much from him. Sometimes the expectation is maybe too much at United.

"You have to let his personality flourish. Where can Manchester United play him to get the best out of him?

"Players play their best football when they are happy.

"I can't stand comments from people who say he has a personality problem. It rubs me up the wrong way.

"Paul is having a bit of a difficult time but he is one of the few personalities and characters in the Premier League."

Loser92: It would be foolhardy of Manchester United to leave Paul Pogba out of today’s clash with Chelsea. The Frenchman didn’t play at Stamford Bridge on 5 November and United lacked a little in the creativity department during that match.

There’s tension between Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho. They need to come together and sort it out. Pogba is their best midfielder.

There’s an agenda with Pogba. I’m not sure why. He’s a terrific player. He started the season exceptionally. Everything started in that game against Tottenham where they were thoroughly outplayed. He’s not playing in the position he did with Juventus. Now they've created a perception which is getting worse.

They need to trust him and put him in a position where he can succeed like he did at Juventus. He needs players around him who will do the defensive work.

Pogba is a free spirit. His role in that United team is a bit undefined.

Anyone who says he has an attitude problem doesn't know him. He's still smiling and trying to be a good team-mate.

As if this match did not have enough sub-plot already, here's Paul Pogba striding in.

It's mysterious, at least to me. Why there is such a heightened state of tension and scrutiny over his performances? Isn't he United's best player?

    Will he start?

  19. 'Major challenge for Palace'published at 11:06 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2018

Crystal Palace v Tottenham (12:00 GMT)

    Martin Fisher
    Match of the Day commentator

Crystal Palace climbed out of the relegation zone in mid-December but staying above the dreaded dotted line over the next three weeks is going to be a major challenge.

The fixture list hasn't been kind. After Tottenham, it's Manchester United and then Chelsea for a squad ravaged by injury. Devoid of suitable options, it says a lot that Roy Hodgson has seen fit to make only three substitutions during their last five games.

I'm not sure Palace possess the firepower to outscore a Spurs side that boasts plenty, not least in the formidable Harry Kane, who requires just one more goal to match last season's impressive tally of 35.

It's hard to see anything other than a sixth successive Premier League win for north over south in this London derby.

There are two changes to the Crystal Palace XI that started their previous game - a 3-1 Premier League defeat at Everton on 10 February.

Yohan Cabaye and Joel Ward both drop out, with Jairo Riedewald and Aaron Wan-Bissaka coming in. It is 20-year-old midfielder Wan-Bissaka's Premier League debut.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino makes 10 changes to the side that drew with Rochdale in the FA Cup last weekend, but just one change from the team that played at Juventus in the Champions League on 13 February.

That sees Vincent Wanyama coming in and Jan Vertonghen dropping out - he took a knock to his ankle in training, the club say.
