I think Tom Lawrence might enjoy playing at Deepdale.

While on loan at Ipswich last season, he scored a pretty impressive solo strike against the Lillywhites. Today, he's shown how deadly he can be from set pieces.

And that is half-time at Deepdale.

Goalless, but it could've been a different story had Alan Browne's penalty for Preston gone the right side of the post.

Just the one minute being added on at the end of this first half.

Preston midfielder Ben Pearson is first in the referee's notebook this afternoon for a late challenge on David Nugent.

That's his 14th booking of the season quite extraordinarily.

Preston still pressing Derby despite that penalty miss from Alan Browne.

Derby losing a bit of patience in their own half as they give away a couple of needless free-kicks.

Callum Robinson again works some space on the edge of the Derby area but his low drilled shot goes wide of the right post.

Rachel Armitage: Seems a bit obvious, but Nuno will be a brilliant Premier League manager, he’s worked nothing short of miracles this season!

Well, that's livened things up a touch.

Still goalless though as we head towards half-time.

It's Alan Browne who steps up and takes it after he was adjudged to have been fouled.

He sends Scott Carson the wrong way, but the ball hits the outside of the post and goes behind.

It seems a harsh decision against Andre Wisdom, but as Alan Browne goes to ground under pressure the referee awards the spot kick!.

Close for Preston!

Decent cross in from the left on to Callum Robinson's head, but his effort from the penalty spot creeps just wide of the right post.

Had Scott Carson worried for a second though as he dived full stretch towards it.

Roger Baker: Michael Appleton is assistant at a Premier League side now but did a great job at OUFC and deserves his chance at the helm at a higher level.

Paul Gallagher tries to catch Derby out with a quickly taken free-kick on halfway, but Chris Baird is wise to it and clears the ball away ahead of the advancing Callum Robinson.

Once again a Preston corner comes to nothing as the Rams clear the danger.
