    Preston 0-0 Derby

Derby break through Tom Lawrence but the winger can't quite pick the right pass when in the box to find a team-mate.

Preston immediately go up the other end, Callum Robinson shoots, but Scott Carson blocks with his feet. Things are starting to open up a touch.

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Have no fear - I'm still here. Just not much to shout about.

Preston do attempt to mount an attack as Callum Robinson tries a shot on the turn only for Derby to block it away and clear the following corner.

    Preston 0-0 Derby

After a decent spell there, game gets a bit scrappy once again as the ball sees little time on the deck.

Two sides evidently a bit low on confidence but a win for either today would certainly boost that.

Thomas Wright: Think Paul Cook deserves a shot in the Prem. Great character and will be good entertainment value. More to achieve at Wigan and good lower league success at multiple clubs.

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Alan Browne surges forward into the heart of the Derby defence but Alex Pearce is there to force it behind for a Preston corner as he tries to cut the ball back across the face of goal.

The Rams eventually get it clear at the third attempt.

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Almost a bit of Bank Holiday Monday kick-boxing breaks out as Tom Lawrence catches Paul Gallagher in a nasty aerial challenge.

Fair to say Lawrence caught the Preston man in a rather sensitive area there.

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Decent link-up play down the Derby right sees David Nugent float a ball into the area for Matej Vydra.

The Czech striker can't quite control it with his chest when in on goal and the ball bounces kindly into Chris Maxwell's hands in the Preston goal.

Cagey start to this one so far with very little being given away by either side.

Remember - a win for Preston takes them into the play-off places and above Derby.

    Preston 0-0 Derby

More decent promise from Derby as Andi Weimann again finds space in the Preston half.

He can't quite find Matej Vydra to square the ball early and Preston scramble the ball clear.

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Derby ambitiously appeal for a penalty and handball against Preston centre-back Paul Huntington with their first attack of note.

Andi Weimann's low slid cross is cut out by Huntington but it's his chest rather than his arm that makes contact.

If you've been having a Bank Holiday lie in then you might fancy getting back to it.

Not a lot to sell this one on so far as both sides struggle to get the ball down and find any rhythm.

Noah Platts: I genuinely think Chris Wilder would make an excellent manager in the top flight - but as a Blade I’d rather it be with us...

Matt Price: Would love to see Gary Rowett in the top-flight, as well as Chris Wilder. Would have said Nuno but he's practically already there

Not a huge amount of quality in this one early doors.

Paul Gallagher with another searching free-kick into the Derby area, but the visitors once again easily clear.

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Early pressure continues from Preston who have a free-kick swung in by Paul Gallagher but Derby get it clear.

Alan Browne also takes a shot at goal, but the only people gathering that effort are the Derby fans behind the goal as it sails very high and wide.

    Preston 0-0 Derby

Preston enjoy an early spell of possession and almost put Andre Wisdom under pressure on his own byline.

The right back does just enough to shepherd the ball out of touch under pressure form Tom Barkhuizen.

The League Two fixture between Morecambe and Cambridge United becomes the sixth match to be called off today.

    Preston v Derby (12:45 BST)

One side clinging on to its play-off place meets another hoping to break into the pack at Deepdale.

Derby's shock home defeat by Sunderland on Good Friday sees them just inside the places on goal difference despite being without a win in their past eight matches.

Preston meanwhile will look to bounce back from a heavy defeat at Sheffield Wednesday and know a win this lunchtime will take them above the Rams and into the play-off spots - for a few hours at least.
