Kiran: Bringing on Morata after 82 mins too little too late. Chelsea already thrown game away when had massive opportunity against desperately poor Barca performance

Ross: Drinkwater isn’t a game changer. CFC playing got 1-1 now. Poor

GOAL - Bayern Munich 5-0 Besiktaspublished at 21:32 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2018

    Robert Lewandowski

A deft dissection of the Besiktas rearguard as Franck Ribery's outside of the boot ball sets Thomas Mueller running and the German squares for Robert Lewandowski to score his second and his side's fifth.

Three minutes left on the clock there.

    Chelsea 1-1 Barcelona

Alvaro Morata's first touch lures in Samuel Umtiti and his second nicks it past him to win a free-kick in a decent position.

But, with the central defenders up from the back, Chelsea don't manage to deliver.

Instead Victor Moses scuffs a shot wide and Alvaro Morata gets a booking for appealing too strongly for a corner.

Anon: Yes Barcelona have levelled but you can’t say they have been anywhere near the impressive team advertised.

Kris: And there's the difference between a very good team and a world class team, Barca take the first chance they get, while Chelsea could have already been 3-0 ahead.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 83 mins

    Chelsea 1-1 Barcelona

    Antonio Conte shuffles his pack.

Alvaro Morata comes on for Pedro to add a little in attack while a tiring Cesc Fabregas is replaced by Danny Drinkwater to shore up midfield.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 82 mins

    Chelsea 1-1 Barcelona

A couple of yellow cards that got lost in the choas.

Luis Suarez goes into the book for appealing too strongly for a penalty in the build-up to his side's goal.

Antonio Rudiger joins him for a heavy foul on Sergei Roberto.

Both still clear to play in the second leg by the way.

    Home and hosed?

You would have to think so. Robert Lewandowski tucks in a rebound to buy Bayern more insurance in the Allianz Arena.

jayceechamz: Just had to be in the script, messiah delivers.

Andrew Priestley: So sloppy at the back from Chelsea, but brilliant reading of play by Iniesta to pounce on the error, and such a calm finish from Messi. A huge goal in the tie.

Ayo Obit: So what's left on Messi's bucket list in English football? Score at Stoke on a Tuesday night perhaps?

    Chelsea 1-1 Barcelona

It’s so sloppy. Cesar Azpilicueta dives in, Iniesta picks it up in the box and Lionel Messi dispatches it.

It is an unnecessary square ball across the 18-yard box to nobody. Azpilicueta goes to ground too early, he could’ve stayed on his feet and worked Iniesta into a different position.

But once it comes back to Messi, he’s going to score.

Chelsea have handed Barcelona that goal.

Sho Rahman: That is so so bad from Chelsea. Gift for Barca who haven't been a threat all night.

Andrew Priestley: He’s only gone and broken his Chelsea duck!

That was Lionel Messi's first goal against Chelsea in 730 minutes of action. No other side have held out so long against the little man.

  11. goal

GOAL - Chelsea 1-1 Barcelonapublished at 75 mins

    Lionel Messi

The first Chelsea mistake in defence and it is punished.

It is ruthless from Barcelona as Andreas Christensen's loose pass across the face of his own goal is intercepted by Andres Iniesta ahead of the stretching Cesar Azpilicueta.

The shot is on for Iniesta, but with the vision of a meerkat, he squares the ball across for Lionel Messi who curls low and unerringly into the bottom corner from 15 yards.

Ousmane Dembele and Denis Suarez are the other attacking options on the Barcelona bench if Ernesto Valverde really fancies chasing the tie tonight.

His side are getting plenty of the ball but lack the penetration.

Numan: There's something in the Chelsea DNA that just turns up against Barcelona. These pair are like old Shakespearian rivals you can never take your eyes off.

Rohan: A tactical masterclass once again from Conte, who has perhaps FINALLY discovered his tactical nous from last season. Tactics spot-on.

    Chelsea 1-0 Barcelona

That opening goal is drawing Barca onto the sucker punch that Chelsea have been looking to land all night.

A lightning counter-attack has the visitors short-staffed at the back and Willian very nearly squeezes a return pass to the on-bombing N'Golo Kante.

Brilliant from Willian - there is no player more deserving. After being unlucky hitting the post twice, this time he trusts himself.

It was hard and low, giving Marc Andre ter Stegen no chance.

The accuracy is there for everyone to see. A lead for Chelsea which, on chances, I think they deserve.

  20. Willian gets it right at lastpublished at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 20 February 2018

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Stamford Bridge

Third time lucky for Willian and Stamford Bridge rocks with noise. The name of Antonio Conte rings around this part of west London.

Chelsea, and Willian in particular, have carried a threat all night and that goal was fully deserved.

Barcelona have been strangely sloppy in the final third and have struggled for end product - Chelsea will hope that continues.
