Not much to report from the opening 100 or so seconds. Apart from Spurs full-back Kieran Trippier - born down the road in Bury - grimacing as he takes a throw. Imagine the irony of somebody getting injured on this new pitch...

"We support our local team" goes the chant of the Rochdale fans in the corner nearest the travelling Spurs fans, swiftly followed by another song, which not so politely enquiries exactly who the visitors are.
It's a chilly old afternoon at Spotland but the atmosphere is already hotting up. I've spotted a couple of tin-foil FA Cups too - Tottenham, be warned.
Rochdale 0-0 Tottenham
Handshakes all round between the two managers, the two skippers and the officiating team... and that's all the pre-match business tied up.
Off we go!

It's not only the inaugural meeting of the clubs, it's undoubtedly the first time any team's run of fixture venues has read 'Wembley - Juventus - Rochdale'!
Whatever happens, it's Dale's occasion to savour, although their chances have surely lessened with the laying of a brand spanking new pitch, external.
It might not please Millwall to see such a surface after their defeat on sandy loam- but, as ever in the FA Cup, that's just the (bad) luck of the draw.
The Spurs spies will have advised of Ian Henderson's finishing and Matt Done's wing play, but in these ties it's usually the top-flight team's temperament that decides matters - and unlike some (not all) Spurs sides of the past, this one doesn't mind a battle.
Rochdale v Tottenham (16:00 GMT)
Tottenham's players are the first to emerge from the changing room, waiting for a good few minutes before their hosts turn up. It's a bit tight down there.
Referee Bobby Madley, plus assistants Sian Massey-Ellis and Steve Bennett shuffle their way through to the front, and then order those 22 men behind them to follow them out.
A crackling atmosphere!

More from Rochdale boss Keith Hill, speaking to BBC MOTD: "We will try to play football but to test it against Tottenham will be difficult. We will be testing oursleves against supreme opposition, who do what we do but maybe 20 or 30 times better.
"I think Tottenham realised they dodged a bullet at Newport County, but they will respect us. Hopefully we can give a good reflection of the way we do things here at Rochdale."

Here's one for the FA Cup bingo... a silver foil cup being held up by a young Rochdale fan! Great work young man. You can recycle that tomorrow and take your sandwiches to school in it.
Rochdale v Tottenham (16:00 GMT)
Rochdale manager Keith Hill has been sat in the home dugout having a pre-match chinwag with BBC Sport's Manish Bhasin: "I'm very excited but as a manager you have to be focused on a plan. To be successful you go into every game trying to have to focus on winning games. I have to let everyone else deal with the carnival and the sideshow surrounding it.
"My players are capable and in a one-off situation like this they can bring their 'A-game' - a game they have produced at times all through their career. We want to make it uncomfortable for the. The players have to better than they have ever been in their careers."
Rochdale v Tottenham (16:00 GMT)
There's a hum of excitement in the chilly Lancastrian air - and a waft of glorious pies, I'd hope - as the players disappear back down the tunnel.
Harry Kane is the centre of attention, stopping to sigh some autographs and high five the young mascots patiently waiting to lead the teams out.
Look how happy they are! Aaaahh.

They've done a fantastic job getting the pitch into this condition.
The Rochdale manager, Keith Hill wanted the pitch in good condition because he believes that they can take Tottenham on.

Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier, speaking to BBC MOTD: "It was a good game midweek against Juventus and we have momentum and hopefully we can get through. We want to get to the final, but we won't look too far ahead. It's a tough fixture and we'll enjoy ourselves and get the win.
"Rochdale have done a good job with the pitch and it looks like a fantastic surface, so I think we can get the ball down to play. People have seen pictures of the pitch previously, they have done a good job to get it ready."

Spurs have the best chance of the winning the FA Cup.
Tottenham have had the best of the quarter final draw (they will face either Swansea or Sheffield Wednesday if they win today).
You look at their team and they should be too strong for Rochdale today. Pochettino will want to win this comfortably. He will recognise the importance of today.
Eventually Spurs will win something big.
Rochdale v Tottenham (16:00 GMT)
Whoever the official Spurs snood supplier is quids in. All the visiting players are wearing them as they go through their final warm ups. If we were building up an 'honest lads v pampered stars' narrative then we'd say the home players were braving the elements in short-sleeved shirts. But we're not. And they're not. No snoods but plenty of long-sleeve skins on show. Sensible.

It's fair to say that having Match of the Day in town (as well as Spurs of course) has caused a bit of a stir with the Rochdale fans. On his way to the temporary studio, Jermaine Jenas had to pose for approximately 1,000 selfies and the fans right outside are making as much noise as possible - they've got a drum too, which helps.
Rochdale v Tottenham (16:00 GMT)
The Spurs lads get a warm welcome as they file out of the narrow Spotland tunnel. Harry Kane leads them out, with recent signing Lucas Moura - wearing a club issue woolly hat - trotting out behind.
The bright lights of Paris seem just a distant memory...

I think the relaid pitch at Spotland will suit Spurs' passing game and be to their advantage.
I know Rochdale say they like to play football but Tottenham are far superior.

If you're not already glued to the Winter Olympics on BBC One, then grab the remote and flick over. Because Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Jermaine Jenas are about to be beamed live into your living room from Rochdale.
Or, if you're out and about, then you can watch on this very page. Just keep following our words too, yeah?

Top marks to the Spotland DJ. I've already heard Joy Division's 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' and Stone Roses classic 'I Am The Resurrection'.
Continuing the Manchester indie theme... Rochdale will be hoping to 'Live Forever' in the FA Cup...
