It was a great run in behind though and Italy have been doing it all game so far.

Italy so far has been fantastic. They are all on they same wavelength with their movement, their passing, little one twos, and let's be honest, it could and maybe should be 3-0 to Italy.

England have a free-kick in the middle of the park but James Tarkowski is penalised as soon as the ball is lofted into the box for a push on Leonardo Bonucci.

Antonio Candreva fires in a lovely ball from the right and Ciro Immobile should score. His header flies over the bar but he was left unmarked and should have hit the target.

A let off for England who look out of sorts in defence.

Antonio Candreva tries to beat Ashley Young down the right but it's well defended. Italy swing a ball in from the resulting corner and it takes several attempts to clear before James Tarkowski can play it on the floor towards Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

When you play as a number 9, you have to be patient, pick your moment and be alert when you get a chance. You might feel like you are not involved, but Jamie Vardy needs to stay high, on the shoulder and pick his moment.

Don't force it. Keep moving it, keep working it, keep moving and England will find an opening. They are forcing it a bit at the minute.

Kieran Trippier looks to play in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain down the right but they're on completely different wavelengths and it goes straight out for a goalkick.

Nice build-up play from Jesse Lingard and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain through the middle which provides Ashley Young and Kyle Walker an opportunity to join the attack.

Their deliveries earn England a corner but it's cleared comfortably by Italy and now they can reset.

Rob: Great to see Southgate giving form players a chance. Promotes better competition in the squad. Come on England!!

Darren: Bar Dier Tarkowski and Stones, that England team is tiny! I imagine Italy be pumping every free kick into the box.

Another mistake from John Stones as he gets caught on the ball inside the area by Ciro Immobile. Luckily he recovers in time to clear it and concede a corner.

Somebody give him a shake!

What a start from Italy! Jorginho plays a simple ball through the middle and Ciro Immobile beats the offside trap.

John Stones tried to step up. England got lucky because Immobile lingered on the ball too long and had it taken away from him...

And we're off at Wembley. An 8-0 thriller incoming... (hopefully).

Good start for Belgium against Saudi Arabia, the only friendly they have arranged this month, with Romelu Lukaku scoring an early opener.

Belgium are also in England's group.

Wembley is now paying tribute to legendary trio Jimmy Armfield, Cyrille Regis and Davide Astori.

The teams are out, the anthems are being played and the supporters are just about all in their seats.
