Germany 1-5 England comes high up there, you've got the Wimbledon giantkilling in the cup final and I'm not tired of telling this story - but other people are getting tired of it - the match that really changed my career and my life was Hereford-Newcastle in 1972 and Ronnie Radford. If I survive today I'm going for a drink with Ricky George, the man who scored the winning goal in that game.

You know how I said it looked bright at the Emirates? There's a chap in the posh seats wrapped in a blanket. Some youngsters have a banner that says "Arsenal please win". Much better than asking a player for his shirt.

That's the 'oddest place to see a footballer' sewn up. Also, are those Blue Man shows any good? I quite fancy seeing one.

I met Kevin Campbell at a charity event in Manchester last week. I told him I wrote the match review for his Arsenal debut. He said 'what at Everton?'. I said 'no at Millwall'. After a Mexican standoff he accepted that Millwall was his senior (rather than his first team) debut. Nice guy. Rubbish memory.

Have you noticed that it almost feels like spring today? If you're particularly daring, you could probably get away with going outside in only two layers. It's bright at the Emirates, but most of the Watford team are still choosing to warm-up in trousers.

We sold our house to a gent and his missus.... who turned out to be the parents of Lee Bowyer. Master Bowyer came for one of the viewings and was both pleasant and unremarkable... except for the over-abundance of personal hygiene products which I'm sure was the trigger for my allergies.

Discussing Jan Vertonghen's comments in the press this morning...

I agree with Jan Vertonghen. It does mean a whole lot more when you stick together. At Arsenal we saw United win everything in 98/99, then we lost the Cup final to Liverpool. But when we win the league and cup again in 2002, it makes it feel even better. Tottenham should stick together, it's a special group and they've been unlucky. But the Champion League is a competition that you have to learn from.

A lot of these stories seem to involve Graeme Souness. Either he's a very accessible footballer, or there's more than one of him.

In the early 1980s, my grandparents were on a flight home from a holiday in Israel. The Liverpool team were on the same flight and one of the players, worse for wear, was placing champagne corks on my grandad's head. It was shocking! Anyway, club captain, Graeme Souness, came over and apologised and got my grandparents upgraded!

Wenger sees the Europa League as a lifeline. He's a survivor. He wants to win the Europa League. Atletico Madrid will have something to say about it - and they've still got to get past AC Milan. But that's why he's made changes today, with the second leg in mind. That's not quite turned it into a sideshow today but he's laid his cards out, saying this is the team I want to face Milan.

  20. Full team newspublished at 12:44 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2018

    Arsenal v Watford (13:30 GMT)

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger makes six changes from the side that started the 2-0 win over AC Milan in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie on Thursday.

Laurent Koscielny and Aaron Ramsey are not in the matchday squad at all, while David Ospina, Calum Chambers, Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck are on the bench. In come Petr Cech, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Rob Holding, Mohamed Elneny, Alex Iwobi and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Arsenal: Cech, Maitland-Niles, Mustafi, Holding, Kolasinac, Elneny, Xhaka, Mkhitaryan, Ozil, Iwobi, Aubameyang. Substitutes: Wilshere, Ospina, Chambers, Welbeck, Nelson, Nketiah, Willock.

For Watford the team news is much more straight forward. Just the one change from the side that started the 1-0 win over West Brom on 3 March as Kiko Femenia replaces Andre Carillo.

Heurelho Gomes is not on the bench, so Watford's back-up goalkeeper is 23-year-old Austrian Daniel Bachmann, who has never played in the Premier League.

Watford: Karnezis, Janmaat, Prodl, Mariappa, Holebas, Doucoure, Capoue, Femenia, Pereyra, Richarlison, Deeney. Substitutes: Britos, Sinclair, Gray, Hughes, Carrillo, Okaka, Bachmann.
