    Arsenal 2-0 Watford

Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the wars. This time Jose Holebas sticks one one on him and goes in the book. Arsenal mak a change. Alex Iwobi off, Danny Welbeck on. Watford do likewise. Stefano Okaka for Roberto Pereyra.

Incredible noise around the Emirates now. They haven't heard the likes of this for a while. If you were being unkind, you would say that Deeney's cojones failed him on that penalty. At the other end, Arsenal should have a spot-kick of their own when Adrian Mariappa sticks his studs into Henrikh Mkhitaryan's ankle. Not given.

Peter Cech is doing his best to get his 200th clean sheet. He would have earned it today. There can be no complaints about the penalty decision. But it looks difficult now for Watford.

  4. SAVED PENALTYpublished at 61 mins

    Arsenal 2-0 Watford

Saved by Petr Cech! Troy Deeney, hardly popular in these parts, makes a bit of a hash of it, sending it only just to Cech's right at a comfortable height. Cech still as work to do, though, thrusting his left hand high to beat the ball away.

Mkhitaryan has somewhat redeemed himself because it was an excellent run. Watford have been pushing themselves forward and that's why they got undone. Two midfield players were out of position. Aubameyang will take confidence from that.

GOAL - Arsenal 2-0 Watfordpublished at 59 mins

    Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Against the run of play, Arsenal may have put this one to bed. Henrikh Mkhitaryan finds space in the middle of the park, running at the Watford defence. His through-ball feeds Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who rounds the keeper for his third Arsenal goal.

Charles Meyrick: I've got Arsenal/Watford on the TV but it's muted in favour of Motty's commentary. Can someone pass onto him that his voice, is THE voice of football. Can't imagine the weekend without him. Come on John, one more year?

Elland Road: John Motson the voice of football and the iconic sheepskin coat, enjoying your last commentary, you will be sorely missed, Happy Retirement!

Press Office Peter: All my football-supporting years, 1973-to-date, flashing before me as I listen to John Motson's final radio commentary, on BBC 5 live. We could watch on TV, but it's radio only today, in tribute to this utter, utter, utter broadcasting and football legend

Another Watford corner comes to nothing. Too much shoe on it, it drifts long. Arsene Wenger, hugging himself, looks worried.

Watford are still the more likely to get the next goal. Richarlison, making a nuisance of himself, is brought down by goalscorer Shokdran Mustafi, who goes in the book.

It's following the same pattern as the first half. Good play leading up to the point of delivery but, unfortunately, the majority of the time we get let down.

A shaven-headed Jack Wilshere is warming up, high-kicking his way down the touchline. Watford finished the first half well and have forced two corners so far in the second. It is the Hornets' fans that can be heard at the moment...

Gunners legend Ian Wright has brought his Arsenal duvet with him and is wrapped up in the posh seats. OK, it might not be his personal duvet, but it definitely is a blanket emblazened with the club badge. Surely it's not that cold...

Early rasper from Granit Xhaka, a left-footed curler stinging the palms of Orestis Karnezis. Karnezis has a worrying moment when his parry looks to be dropping goalwards, before he grasps the ball to his chest.

Around 5/6 years ago I met Dunfermline Athletic legend Jim Leishman in Lourenzos nightclub. I walked through the front door to join what I thought was the queue for the coatroom. As I got closer to the front of the queue I realised it was a queue of people waiting to shake the hand of Jim Leishman. Once I reached the front of the queue I panicked, gave Jim a bear hug and told him I loved him. The measure of the man he said "I love you too pal" and patted me on the back. Legend.

Fair play, Joss. You know how many people read this, yet you're still willing to out yourself as having gone to a Craig David gig. Fill Me In is a good tune, mind.
