After Tottenham went out of the Champions League there were a lot of question marks but I thought it was an over-reaction. I thought they'd bounce back and they did it in style. They were well worth the victory.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe, speaking to Sky Sports: "We competed, we gave everything into the match physically. We were well into it until that last period. The scoreline was flattering for them I feel.

"We started really well, we were on the front foot but they have quality and defensively we were always going to be stretched today. You have to give them credit for the way they came back.

"We started the second half really well, we tried to be on the front foot as best as we could.

"We need wins and we have a huge game coming up next week. I am proud of the players efforts today."

Well done Simon Tilbury, it was indeed Jurgen Klinsmann [see 17:40 GMT]. But Harry Kane has since become even more important to Spurs than Klinsmann or Defoe were. Despite today's win, how big a loss will he be over the coming weeks?

The way Harry Kane looked straight towards the touchline, he was worried. I think he knew it was a bad one. But hopefully he'll only be out for a few weeks.

Son Heung-min, speaking to Sky Sports: "Today was a really difficult game, without the team-mates I cannot score so many goals. Without them I am nothing.

"We just try to enjoy every weekend. It was tough after Wednesday but if like today we show good mentality and good performance I think we will get good results."

Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen: "It was a tough one to take on Wednesday. We spoke a lot about it, we had to be strong physically and mentally for this game and we had a good game today."

On Kane: "We have to wait for news on Harry. He is a great player and if it is a serious injury we will miss him. But with guys like Sonny, Erik Lamela and so many others they stepped up."

Tottenham were just too good and, in the end, they turned their possession into goals. Harry Kane going off maybe galvanised them. Other players seemed to step up and take on the responsibility. Son certainly did that.

It's not often that a Premier League team is applauded off after a 4-1 home defeat. But Bournemouth are. The majority of their fans are realistic enough to know the gulf between the elite top six and the rest of the league.

Easier pickings, surely, for Eddie Howe's side next week? They're home to West Brom.

Tottenham have been pretty comfortable second half. They've dictated the play and limited Bournemouth to two Francis shots from distance. Other than that, Spurs have looked the side most likely to score. Maybe 4-1 is a bit flattering for them but if you look at the possession stats, maybe it is fair.

Two seasons ago here, Bournemouth scored early and Tottenham replied with five. Whether or not that fourth goal has slightly flattered the Londoners, it's the cue for many of the home fans to head for the exits.

The away supporters are all staying - though the lack of any trains between Bournemouth and Southampton today will mean a late return to the capital for some of them.

Tottenham's win has been somewhat overshadowed by the injury to Harry Kane. We'll have to wait and see the extent of the damage but is he doubtful for the World Cup? Does someone need to give this guy a call?

    Serge Aurier

It's suddenly turned into a rout. Asmir Begovic hasn't had the best of days and he can only palm a mishit Kieran Trippier cross up in the air, and Serge Aurier steams on to it and heads into the back of the net.

That foul given against Callum Wilson now looks very important...

There's inquests aplenty among the Bournemouth players while Tottenham - who were running the clock down only a few minutes ago - celebrate Son's second goal, but the replays will show it was Lewis Cook losing the ball to Christian Eriksen which left them woefully exposed at the back.

It then takes Asmir Begovic's block to deny the in-form South Korean, who's been serenaded by the away fans for most of this half, a hat-trick.

    Bournemouth 1-3 Tottenham

It was Christian Eriksen's pass which sent Son clean through on goal for his second by the way. A gem it was too.

And that's not bad from Moussa Sissoko, freeing Son down the left and his shot is well pushed away by Asmir Begovic this time. So nearly a hat-trick.

Son was excellent, really calm. It looked like Bournemouth's defenders might get back in time but he took it round Begovic and finished it off. He's been excellent for Spurs this season.

    Son Heung-min

Well that wraps it all up. I've not seen anyone have a one-on-one from his own half in ages and now that's two in one game!

Bournemouth made a hash of their clear chance in the first half but Son never, ever, looks like doing the same as he runs in, goes around Asmir Begovic and strokes it in. Made it look easy.

Erik Lamela was to the right of Son, who looked at one point as though he was considering squaring the ball. No chance.
