It's the most difficult shot to save. Son's hit it straight into the ground, Ake and Begovic are both committed and, because of the bounce, they're out of the game and it ends up almost going into the top corner.

    Son Heung-min

Spurs have come from behind! And it's an assist to go with Dele Alli's earlier goal.

Alli finds space on the left of the area and stands up a fine cross to the back post. Son is just onside and scores - but it's a very scruffy finish. He actually strikes the ball with his calf - it bounces into the turf, up and in to the roof of the net.

It also means all those 'Son delivers on Mother's Day' gags that were doing the rounds can come off.

Personally I'd have Jonjo Shelvey instead of Alli, much more consistent in passing and tackling.

    James

‪I think the problem with Alli is that he was massively overhyped from the start, believed that hype and has won nothing as a player. Other than that he’s ok

    John, Epsom

Alli's problem this season is that every time he gets the ball he is trying to win a free kick instead of making something happen. I blame Poch for that.

Andy Perry: Rose and Aurier looking a serious downgrade on Davies and Trippier. Who'd have said that last season?

Below is the touchmap for Rose (on the left-hand side) and Aurier (on the right). Certainly not scared to push forward.

The way the second half is unfolding, neither team has settled, it's been a bit scrappy, and it's about whichever team takes their chance.

Christian Eriksen has space to curl a shot in from range, Asmir Begovic parries it away and Serge Aurier can only spank the loose ball behind. A few puzzled looks come his way.

Bournemouth move it nicely downfield and it ends with Dan Gosling shooting wide.

Alli should have done better there, he'd got himself into a good position. There was contact with Son but I don't think it was a penalty.

Simon Francis has scored three goals in six-and-a-half seasons at Bournemouth. The last of them came in September 2014, and he must have thought he'd ended that long drought just now before Lloris intervened.

Mind you, his strike rate of three goals in 279 appearances is prolific compared to one of his long-serving predecessors as Bournemouth's right-back, ex-Spurs trainee Neil Young (elder brother of Luke), who scored three goals in 507 Cherries games between 1994 and 2008. And at least two of those were deflected.

  10. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 54 mins

    Bournemouth 1-1 Tottenham

Great ball from Son, spinning on halfway and sending Dele Alli away in the left channel. He wants to come in on to his right foot though and drives himself into a cul-de-sac. There was space available but he went away from it. Eventually he finds Son in the middle, who stands on the Korean's foot - no foul given...

There's the smell of a goal in the air, I just couldn't tell you who was going to get it. Bournemouth press high but Spurs get out on the break, Danny Rose overclubbing a cross out of play.

Tottenham's Harry Kane sustains an injuryImage source, Reuters

If an outfield player makes a 2 footed challenge like Begovic on Kane it’s a straight red. Why do goalkeepers go unpunished for similar challenges?

    Will

Just saw the Kane injury. Why was that not a foul? Ball long gone. Defender out of control and legs scissoring round the attackers legs. What am I missing?

Asmir Begovic was trying to make a save though wasn't he. It's an interesting point but surely goalkeepers have to be able to dive at the ball?

Chance for Dele Alli and Spurs at the other end as a cross comes through to him - but Simon Francis recovers well to clear.

    Still very open this one.

Adam Summers: If a player makes that challenge on Kane in the centre of the pitch, he gets a yellow card at the very least, so why do keepers get away with it? Begovic has lunged in and clearly endangered an opponent. Accidental or not

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 46 mins

    Bournemouth 1-1 Tottenham

Fine start to the half. Dan Gosling's jaggy run from the left ends up with the ball at the feet of Simon Francis, and his drive is brilliantly clawed away by Hugo Lloris!

From the corner Nathan Ake has the ball headed into his face and it goes over the top.

To be fair I agree with Ben, this year Dele Ali has been hiding in performances in comparison to Eriksen and Son.

    Dave, Glasgow

I think the biggest issue with Dele is that he was amazing last year and has just been average this year, if you're average every year no one cares, but be good once and you're forever living in your own shadow. (Unless you're Kane)

    Tom

Re Ben from Cambridge wanting to veto Dele Alli making WC squad who is he making way for?? Dele makes things happen and is entertaining. No alternative but to name him

"It is not always easy to come into a new team and integrate into the group. It was a difficult moment for the club but we are back on form."

Neil Harris: Ben in Cambridge isn't alone in his views btw. Alli's had a poor season with more dives than assists and if he was at a struggling club instead of Spurs there's no way he'd be on the plane to Russia.

Amrul Choudhury: Dele Alli is having a poor season. Scoring against Bournemouth does not change the overall picture of the season he is having
