John, Manchester: Fantastic response by City. Faced with the same scenario again. Ground it out. Mentally tough. Deserve their lead.

Zak: Man City look so composed after switching to a back three of 3-5-2.

Richard Browne: Pretty solid demonstration today that Liverpool and City are the best two teams in the league today. Alas Liverpool's early season draws costing us an exciting run in.

    Tottenham 1-3 Man City

The ball bobbles through into the box after good work from Lucas Moura on the right and Christian Eriksen shows composure on the ball before getting a shot away.

It's an easy save for Ederson though and City will take their time clearing this.

This has been a performance befitting of champions. They’ve had a tough week but have really asserted themselves against very strong opposition. They’ve shown why they are the best team in the country this season.

Ed, Bristol: Struggling to remember the last time Kane touched the ball.

Shane O'Neill: Spurs proving again they’re not remotely close to being title contenders.

Ricky Kelehar: Great performance this from City, after week they’ve had. Making Spurs look ordinary. Is Kane fully fit? Looks lumbering to me.

Spurs came out of the traps really well this half but Pep Guardiola made a tactical tweak and it's really nullified them. The space is in the wide areas but they've not been able to use it and City are back in control.

David D: Sterling is awful. Falls over all the time, misses absolute sitters and scores the scraps his top quality team mates provide for him. He scores one curling shot a year and everyone thinks he's Messi for a while. I hope he doesn't get to Russia.

Ben Williams: Looks like it was shot number 50 for Sterling because he actually scored

Jay Barnes: Sterling with the mother of all misses - and not just his misses (of which there are many)

He's always in the right place though...
