    Tottenham 1-2 Man City

Mousa Dembele makes things look so easy.

He turns neatly to draw away three players in the middle of the pitch before coolly laying it off to a teammate.

I don't think that's a penalty. As the ball loops up, Vincent Kompany and Dele Alli are both looking at the ball and the Belgian catches Alli on the top of his foot. Alli went down but the ball had gone through to Ederson. He's up and walking comfortably enough now which is good news for England.

    Tottenham 1-2 Man City

Dele Alli tries to weave through the City defence in the box but there's no way through.

He then goes down holding his ankle, appealing for a penalty, but it looked to just be a coming together with Vincent Kompany.

    Tottenham 1-2 Man City

Spurs are controlling the ball well and with intensity. Christian Eriksen's touch just lets him down on the edge of the area but he reacts well to win it back instantly and slips it right to Dele Alli.

City recover to win the ball back but Spurs press instantly and force a mistake out of Fabian Delph.

Harry Kane looks to run in behind Vincent Kompany but again is caught just offside. This is a good start from Spurs though - they are playing more dangerously and using the space to get at City.

Spurs have started the second half as they finished the first. It was a needless challenge from Aymeric Laporte and allows Spurs to put the ball in the box and keep the pressure on. Christian Eriksen put so much pace on the ball and it's good, brave goalkeeping from Ederson to fist the ball away.

    Tottenham 1-2 Man City

Christian Eriksen drives a dangerous ball into the box but Ederson does extremely well to punch it clear under pressure from Harry Kane.

The Spurs man is offside in the end but it was good goalkeeping from the City youngster.

  8. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Tottenham 1-2 Man City

Lovely from Dele Alli as he nutmegs Ilkay Gundogan and sets up a Spurs attack down the right.

Christian Eriksen is eventually knocked over clumsily by Aymeric Laporte to win a free-kick near the touchline.

I wonder if City will start questioning themselves now. They'll be well aware of what happened against Manchester United and will need to respond. We saw a lot more from Spurs in the final few minutes - they probably couldn't have played much worse than they did for much of that opening period.

Ruben Neves: More bad tackles from Spurs players, they have been lucky against City and Chelsea that they haven't seen red, should be retrospective action for that

Not convinced that's the Ruben Neves. No doubt he'll be looking forward to games with Wolves against these two next season.

Helles Mahmut: City have a problem with their conditioning, they play their game at full speed all the time and seem to run out of gas now. There is no ebb and flow, no pausing, with this style they'll never win the CL... I think Spurs will come back and win this, too..

Hafisa Kay: Man City well on their way to set a new record for the most consecutive capitulations!

Hamish: Spurs are on the run bring on Son!

No doubt which fans have got their tails up..

City's best attacks came down the right-hand side in the early stages of that half. I wonder if they will target Ben Davies again at the start of the second?

Rodney: Son on for the greedy Lamela, and the comeback is on....

Andy: Time to bring on Son..Lamela doesn't play the ball quick enough and Son can run this City defence ragged!

Daniel: The decision to drop our most in form player within Son for the unreliable Lamela still baffles me. It also raises the question why buy Lucas Moura?

Wonder who Spurs fans want to see come off the bench...

    HT: Tottenham 1-2 Man City

    Chris Sutton
Ex-Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Manchester City will be wondering how Spurs are still in this game. They were scintillating early on. They got Jesus' goal through one long ball and he took it well. Ilkay Gundogan got the second and City were in total control. That Christian Eriksen goal, lucky as it was, gets them right back into it.

  19. Kane's controversial appealpublished at 20:40 British Summer Time 14 April 2018

    Tottenham 1-2 Man City

If you've been living under a rock or don't have social media, you may have missed the news that Tottenham's Harry Kane has been awarded Spurs' second goal in their 2-1 win at Stoke after a successful appeal.

It had initially been given to Christian Eriksen but Kane and the club appealed to have it overturned in his favour.

Kane's tally for the season is now 25 - five behind Liverpool's Mohamed Salah - as the race for the Golden Boot hots up.

It was a controversial move by the England striker, prompting criticism from a number of ex-players and it even got a "wow" tweet from Salah!

I think it's fair to say that goal from Eriksen will stand as I can't see Aymeric Laporte providing much of a challenge...
