So, what a day in the EFL.

Congratulations to Accrington who were crowned League Two champions and Wycombe who were promoted to League One.

Commiserations to MK Dons who suffered relegation to the fourth tier.

The Championship relegation battle is going right down to the wire with Reading, Birmingham, Barnsley, Burton and Bolton still not safe.

That's where I'll leave it for now, but we'll be back on Saturday with the League One and League Two finale.

Sunday then sees the conclusion of the Championship.

    Until then, goodbye.

  2. 'We huffed and puffed'published at 19:40 British Summer Time 28 April 2018

    FT: Middlesbrough 2-0 Millwall

Millwall manager Neil Harris told Sky Sports:

"We've huffed and puffed without creating too many clear cut chances.

"The two goals were poor. That's two games in a row we've thrown the games away.

"Credit to Middlesbrough, they'll be a real force in the play-offs."

  3. 'It's now about the play-offs'published at 19:39 British Summer Time 28 April 2018

    FT: Middlesbrough 2-0 Millwall

Middlesbrough goalscorer Britt Assombalonga told Sky Sports:

"It's a great feeling, it's now about the preparations leading upm to the play-offs.

"We did it today and just have to carry on.

"It was nice to get a start and to score. It's all about the team, I've put my input in and Patrick has put his input in and other strikers too, whoever gets the nod on the day we have to give it our all.

  4. 'Boro fans goading Millwall'published at 19:37 British Summer Time 28 April 2018

    FT: Middlesbrough 2-0 Millwall

BBC Sport's Matt Newsum reports a minority of Middlesbrough fans taunted the Millwall supporters at full-time.

Thankfully nothing too serious appeared to come from it...

  5. Not a vintage performance - Neilpublished at 19:35 British Summer Time 28 April 2018

FT: Sheffield United 0-1 Preston North End

Preston North End kept their play-off hopes alive with a 1-0 win at Sheffield United.

Alan Browne scored the only goal at Bramall Lane as North End moved to within two points of the top six with one game to play.

Preston boss Alex Neil said: “It’s certainly one of those games where we’ll take the result and the performance separately.

“I don’t want to take anything away from the players. They’ve dug in and done what they had to do to get the result, but it’s certainly not a vintage performance from us."

FT: Hull City 0-2 Cardiff City

Fulham’s 2-1 win over Sunderland on Friday night meant Cardiff needed all three points at the KCOM Stadium to keep their fate in their own hands heading into next weekend’s Championship season finale.

Sean Morrison's double gave them a 2-0 win at Hull City to put them back up to second, one point above the Whites.

Cardiff boss Neil Warnock said of his players: “I’m ever so proud of them. They just don’t know when they’re beat.

“They keep going. They’re a good group. Everybody keeps expecting us to fall away. I know we’re limited and not everybody’s cup of tea, but we’re not going away."

Warnock's attention now turns to next Sunday, when Cardiff host Reading and Fulham visit Birmingham. Blues, alongside the Royals, have not yet guaranteed their status in the second tier.

While I'm waiting for some reaction from the Riverside, let's take a quick look at some thoughts from the other pivotal EFL games this afternoon...

  8. Millwall's play-off hopes all but overpublished at 19:30 British Summer Time 28 April 2018

    FT: Middlesbrough 2-0 Millwall

So, a point for Boro next week at Ipswich will confirm a play-off semi-final against Aston Villa.

Millwall need to beat Villa at home, hope Derby lose against Barnsley, Preston don't pick up three points and overturn a nine-goal deficit.

    Unlikely.

  9. FULL-TIMEpublished at 19:28 British Summer Time 28 April 2018

    Middlesbrough 2-0 Millwall

Thankfully most of the Boro fans do leave the pitch.

It doesn't appear to have got too out of hand.

  10. FULL-TIMEpublished at 19:25 British Summer Time 28 April 2018

    Middlesbrough 2-0 Millwall

    That's it, Middlesbrough have a play-off place.

Dozens of Boro fans come onto the pitch - this could get ugly if they're not careful.

  11. Postpublished at 90 + 6 mins

    Middlesbrough 2-0 Millwall

    That would have capped things.

Patrick Bamford tries to bend one into the corner from just inside the area but it drifts wide.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 90 + 4 mins

    Middlesbrough 2-0 Millwall

    It's the only way.

Adama Traore blazes forward, Millwall defenders in his wake, and Ryan Tunnicliffe ends his burst with a tackle from behind.

    Booked.

  13. Postpublished at 90 + 3 mins

    Middlesbrough 2-0 Millwall

Boro are content to see things out now.

It's more than likely they'll be facing Aston Villa in the play-off semi-finals.

  14. Six minutes added onpublished at 90 mins

    Middlesbrough 2-0 Millwall

There will be 6 (six) minutes of injury time.

Plenty of minutes for Millwall to score twice. Maybe.

  15. Postpublished at 88 mins

    Middlesbrough 2-0 Millwall

I say Adama Traore has been brilliant - with his runs forward yes!

The end product is still lacking as he fires one over. He's tremendous to watch though.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 87 mins

    Middlesbrough 2-0 Millwall

Ah, that's how to stop Adama Traore.

The Spaniard, who has been brilliant today, races forward once again and Shaun Hutchinson has one option - take him out.

    Yellow.

  17. PENALTY SHOUTpublished at 85 mins

    Middlesbrough 2-0 Millwall

Mo Besic is absolutely furious. He wants a penalty after going down under a challenge from Shaun Hutchinson.

The referee waves his protests away, but Besic won't let it lie. He chases after Paul Tierney, screams in his face, and out comes the yellow card. Stupid.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 83 mins

    Middlesbrough 2-0 Millwall

Millwall make their third and final change.

    Shane Ferguson replaces James Meredith.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 81 mins

    Middlesbrough 2-0 Millwall

Local lad Stewart Downing comes off for the more defensive-minded Fabio.

Middlesbrough have 10 or so minutes left before their play-off spot is confirmed.

  20. Postpublished at 78 mins

    Middlesbrough 2-0 Millwall

It's not going to be Millwall's day.

Jed Wallace bends a low effort towards goal from 20 yards, but it has no power.

    Darren Randolph easily collects.
