    FT: Burton 2-0 Bolton

Burton moved within touching distance of Championship survival as they condemned struggling Botlon Wanderers to their seventh game without a win.

Boss Nigel Clough was delighted with his side's performance but keen to stress they still have work to do.

They're currently 22nd, level on points with Barnsley but with a worse goal difference, and travel to Preston next Sunday, while the Tykes visit Derby.

"That was a brilliant performance today," Clough told BBC Radio Derby. "Although we had to defend second half, I didn't expect anything different to that. Bolton put a lot of bodies forward, put a lot of balls forward, but we dealt with it brilliantly. In terms of everything we wanted in the performance, it was all there in abundance.

"We've not done anything yet. Unless we get a result at Preston, it will be for nothing - that's the message to the players now. We've come this far - let's finish it off."

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Millwall

Adama Traore sprints at least 70 yards down the right wing for Boro but again his cross is overhit.

It's wonderful to watch the young Spaniard in full flight. If he can find some end product he'll be an absolute world beater one day.

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Millwall

If Millwall do lose today, they're not totally out of the play-off race.

But they'll be three points behind sixth-placed Derby with a tricky home game against Aston Villa to come.

Boro will seal a play-off place if they beat the Lions ahead of a visit to Ipswich next Sunday.

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Millwall

Is that a bit of a smile from Boro boss Tony Pulis? I'm sure I just saw a smirk from the Welshman.

His opposite number Neil Harris is stony faced. He'll be seething at the way his Millwall side have started.

    Britt Assombalonga

    Boro lead!

Britt Assombalonga gets a lucky bounce in the area, finds some room and slots it in at the near post.

The ball bounces in off the upright, but a clinical finish from the big striker.

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Millwall

Millwall launch their first attack and win a corner.

But Lee Gregory bundles over his defender in the box - free-kick Boro. Looked soft.

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Millwall

    Adama Traore is lightning quick.

The Boro winger blasts through a couple of tackles into the box but his pull back is weak and Millwall clear.

It's all the home side in these opening few minutes.

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Millwall

    First chance for Boro.

George Friend whips in a cross from the left, Jonny Howson gets on the end of it, but his header flies over.

  9. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Millwall

Middlesbrough are on the front foot straight away with Stewart Downing bursting down the left.

Millwall might have quite a bit of defending to do today, but they're highly organised under Neil Harris.

Tony Pulis' Boro have found some form just at the right time.

Three wins from their last four matches, including back-to-back victories over top-six rivals Derby and Bristol City means another three points this evening secures their play-off place.

An immediate return to the Premier League would cap a marvellous end to a topsy-turvy campaign.

  13. Must-win for Millwall?published at 17:24 British Summer Time 28 April 2018

    Middlesbrough v Millwall (17:30 BST)

It's been a remarkable season for Millwall.

Last season's League One play-off winners weren't given a sniff of being in the promotion race this campaign - but a 17-game unbeaten run muted the doubters.

Fulham ended that sequence last week with a 3-0 win at The Den, but they're still in with a chance of sneaking into the top six.

Derby's draw at Aston Villa means they won't be completely out of it with a defeat, but victory at Middlesbrough is a must though you feel.

    Middlesbrough v Millwall (17:30 BST)

Middlesbrough are unchanged from the crucial away win at Derby, although Patrick Bamford is back on the bench.

One change for Millwall from the home defeat by Fulham - Ryan Tunnicliffe comes in for the injured George Saville.

Middlesbrough XI: Randolph, Shotton, Ayala, Gibson, Friend, Clayton, Besic, Howson, Traore, Downing, Assombalonga.

Millwall XI: Archer, Meredith, Hutchinson, Williams, Gregory, Romeo, Wallace, Tunnicliffe, Morison, Cooper, Marshall.

Thanks Katie and Ian. You can put away your calculators until next week.

Yep, it doesn't get much bigger than this.

Defeat for Millwall and their play-off hopes are all but over. A win puts them level on points with Boro in fifth and Derby in sixth.

MK Dons drop into League Two after their 2-0 defeat by Scunthorpe United, unable to reply to first-half goals from Rory McArdle and Ivan Toney.

Northampton Town are all but down after their 1-0 defeat to Walsall courtesy of George Dobson's 90th minute winner. They're three points from safety with a goal difference of -34, requiring an almost impossible feat of escapology on the final day.

At the other end of the table, three teams - Charlton, Scunthorpe, Plymouth - are fighting for the final two play-off places. All three of those teams won today, and the Pilgrims travel to Glanford Park on Tuesday.

The top two also took the fight to the title down to the final day. Wigan could only draw at home to Wimbleon, while Blackburn lost at Charlton.
