The prospect of Fulham - 20 Championship matches unbeaten and every bit the form side in the English Football League - slipping up against the team down in 11th may seem pretty unlikely, but feast your eyes on this wee stat...

Fulham have only won one of their last 17 home matches against Brentford in all competitions - a 1-0 win in April 1990. The Bees have also won four of their last seven Championship meetings with Fulham.

Make no mistake about it, this one is far from a formality.

Let's crack on with some team news...

Should Fulham fail to beat Brentford this evening, Wolverhampton Wanderers' return to the Premier League will be mathematically confirmed.

Already beyond the reach of fourth-placed Aston Villa, the Cottagers must win to postpone Nuno Espirito Santo's promotion party for at least one more day.

As it is, for one night only, every Wolves fan becomes a Bees fan.

For Fulham, an automatic promotion spot is very much on the cards and victory here would keep them ahead of third-placed Cardiff with only three games left.

For Brentford, a run of three successive wins has just about kept them in play-off contention but, while a draw at Fulham would look a decent result at any other time, they may well need all three points tonight...

As mentioned earlier, Bury's inevitable relegation was confirmed by a 3-2 home defeat by Northampton.

Elsewhere in League One, there were crucial wins for struggling Rochdale and Oxford, while Oldham were pegged back by an injury time equaliser by Gillingham.

Scunthorpe were the big winners in the race for the play-offs as they moved up to fifth with victory over Charlton, who slipped out of the top six.

In League Two, Accrington need two points from their final five matches to confirm promotion after they failed to beat Exeter today. A win would have seen Stanley be the first team promoted in the EFL this season but they drew 1-1.

Second and third-placed Luton and Wycombe beat Crewe and Yeovil respectively and look likely to join Accrington in League One.

At the bottom of the table Barnet's draw at 22nd-placed Grismby means they remain five points adrift of safety but with just four games to play.Forest Green moved six points clear of danger thanks to Christian Doidge's winner at Cheltenham.
