  1. Not easy for Ayr and Roverspublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 7 April 2018

    Scottish League One

The top two in League One face tricky games away from home as they continue their dogfight for the title and automatic promotion, while Alloa Athletic and Arbroath could both secure their places in the promotion play-offs.

Leaders Ayr United face mid-table Airdrieonians, but Raith Rovers face a potentially more hazardous game against an Arbroath side who slipped to fourth last weekend.

Alloa, who beat the Red Lichties to leapfrog them into third, host a Stranraer side who need to win if they are to have any chance of overhauling Arbroath.

  2. Well playing for semi-final places - Robinsonpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 7 April 2018

    St Johnstone v Motherwell (15:00)

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson: "We've got a few injury problems, but we've put the strongest team out we possibly can.

"We want to win the game, we want to compete for seventh place.

"It's important that we finish on a high and go into the semi-final on a high.

"It's important psychologically as well for us building to go forward next season and when I sit down with the board we realise what we need and what we need to improve in the squad.

"Of course, there's boys playing for places in the semi-final.

"We've put young Barry Maguire in today, who's thoroughly deserved his chance."

    Heart of Midlothian v Aberdeen

Shay Logan looks to be struggling a little as his Aberdeen team warm-up on the Tynecastle pitch.

The right-back seems to have a problem with his hamstring area and heads down the tunnel with some of the Dons backroom staff while his colleagues continue their drills.

  4. Ibrox tributes for Ray Wilkinspublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 7 April 2018

    Rangers v Dundee (15:00)

Rangers fans have paid their own tributes outside Ibrox to former England midfielder Ray Wilkins, who died this week at the age of 61.

Wilkins enjoyed a golden period at the Glasgow club from late 1987 to 1990, winning two league titles and a Scottish League Cup.

His efforts led to him being inducted into the club's Hall of Fame, a famous volley in a 5-1 win over Old Firm rivals Celtic in August 1988 a particularly favourite memory for Gers fans.

  5. Thistle on downer, Killie on highpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 7 April 2018

    Partick Thistle v Kilmarnock

Thistle slipped to the foot of the table on goal difference after an awful 4-0 defeat that allowed Ross County to leapfrog them and have gone nine games without a victory, losing their last three.

In contrast, Kilmarnock have gone nine league games without defeat that has lifted Steve Clarke's side up to fifth in the table.

Killie have won both meetings between the side this season - 5-1 in their last meeting in December - and are unbeaten in the last five games between the sides.

Indeed, Killie have not lost at Firhill since 2002, winning three and drawing seven of their last 10 visits.

  7. Miller and McCrorie add pace - Murtypublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 7 April 2018

    Rangers v Dundee

Speaking to his club's TV channel ahead of kick-off against Dundee, Rangers manager Graeme Murty said: "You pick team the according to your opponent – they have pace at the top of the pitch and Ross [McCrorie] has pace in abundance. He’s trained really well and deserves to be included.

“Kenny [Miller] brings experience, ability and know-how. He’s also trained really well and I have no doubts about putting him in. It’s an opportunity for people to go and impress.

“It’s good because Ross has worked extremely hard and we’ve missed him – we’ve missed his dynamism, we miss him in the middle of the pitch and at the back at times.

“I’d like to see us play a little bit quicker, a bit sharper and brighter – Ross affords us that opportunity, as does Kenny."

  8. O'Hara the Dee danger manpublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 7 April 2018

    Rangers v Dundee

Rangers manager Graeme Murty is under pressure after three games without a win as his side have slipped to third behind Aberdeen.

They have lost their last two at Ibrox but have not lost three consecutive top-flight games there since April 2001, which included a defeat by Dundee.

Dundee remain third bottom and without a win in five games despite two commendable draws with Hearts and then away to Celtic in midweek.

Rangers have beaten Dundee in their last 10 visits to Ibrox since 2001, but the Dark Blues won the last meeting of the sides - 2-1 at Dens Park in November.

But they will have to be wary of Mark O'Hara, the midfielder having scored in each of his three previous top-flight appearances against Rangers, including both goals in that win in November.

  9. Sixth isn't good enough - Leveinpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 7 April 2018

Heart of Midlothian v Aberdeen (15:00)

Hearts manager Craig Levein on BBC Radio Scotland: "We’re at home and I’ve tried to get the best players on the pitch. We’ve got a decent record here recently we would like to continue.

"Two good defences and the goalkeepers have been excellent in the two matches to date.

"We played well and created loads of chances in those matches and we’d like to do that again today.

"We want to finish the season well. It’s been difficult, we’re happy to be in the top six, but sixth place isn’t good enough and we know that.

"We’re facing a side in-form today and Derek’s done a fantastic job. It’ll be difficult."

  10. Changes aplenty at Firhillpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 7 April 2018

    Partick Thistle v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Partick Thistle make five changes after their disappointment against Ross County, with Andrew McCarthy, Callum Booth, Blair Spittal, Steven Lawless and Chris Erskine starting.

Adam Barton, Ryan Edwards, Paul McGinn and Miles Storey drop to the bench and Martin Woods missing out.

Danny Devine is free of suspension but does not feature in the squad.

Kilmarnock make three changes, with Kirk Broadfoot back from suspension and taking over from Scott Boyd in defence.

Influential midfielders Youssouf Mulumbu and Jordan Jones also come in as Eamonn Brophy and Rory McKenzie join Boyd on the bench.

Midfielder Aaron Tshibola has recovered from illness and is among the Killie substitutes.

  11. Maguire makes Well debutpublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 7 April 2018

    St Johnstone v Motherwell (15:00)

St Johnstone make three changes, with full-back Richard Foster, winger George Williams and striker Steven MacLean coming in for Denny Johnstone, Chris Millar and Liam Craig.

There's also three alterations from Motherwell.

Barry Maguire, a 19-year-old defender, makes his debut.

Liam Grimshaw and Gael Bigirimana also start in midfield, with Stephen Hendrie, Chris Cadden and Allan Campbell dropping out.

Motherwell were always unlikely to risk midfielder Campbell or defender Charles Dunne seven days before the Scottish Cup semi-final against Aberdeen.

But midfielder Andy Rose, who had been a doubt, is on the bench.

  12. Game of contrasts in Glasgowpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 7 April 2018

    Partick Thistle v Kilmarnock

    Kenny Crawford
    BBC Sport Scotland at Firhill

What were you doing on Saturday 27 January?

That’s when Partick Thistle won their last Premiership game and they’ve tried and failed eight times since then.

It’s also when Kilmarnock last lost in the Premiership – and they’ve won seven of their last nine league matches since.

The Jags and Killie are poles apart when it comes to the form guide.

Alan Archibald’s Thistle lost heavily to fellow strugglers Ross County midweek and haven’t scored in their last four outings. Something needs to change quickly for the team at the foot of the table.

Steve Clarke’s Killie are comfortable in fifth and also have the luxury of a game in hand.

  13. Hibs team's contrasting fortunespublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 7 April 2018

Former Scotland striker Derek Riordan this week signed for amateur outfit St Bernards.

His career has gone in the opposite direction to former team-mate Scott Brown.

Here, BBC Scotland traces the contrasting fortunes of members of a fine Hibernian side.

    Rangers v Dundee

Rangers manager Graeme Murty makes two changes from the side that drew 2-2 at Motherwell last week, with veteran striker Kenny Miller and young centre-half Ross McCrorie starting.

Bruno Alves is dropped to the bench, while Josh Windass misses out because of a calf injury.

McCrorie is making his first start since picking up an injury in during a training trip to Florida during the winter break.

Dundee make one change from the side that drew 0-0 at Celtic Park during the week.

Playmaker Paul McGowan misses out with a knock, having come off late in the match in Glasgow, with striker Sofien Moussa starting instead.

  17. McGinn back for Hibspublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 7 April 2018

    Ross County v Hibernian (15:00)

Hibs' John McGinn is back from a two-match suspension and regains his place in midfield at the expense of Steven Whitaker.

The veteran Scotland international drops to the bench in the only change from the line-up that beat Hamilton Accies on Tuesday.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Ross County are unchanged from their hammering of Partick Thistle.

The Staggies, off the bottom of the Premiership table thanks to that 4-0 win, are still without the injured Jason Naismith and suspended skipper Andrew Davies in defence.
