Watford head coach Javi Gracia: "I see the same behaviour from the first day I was here until now and that hasn't changed regardless of us getting good or bad results.

"After our defeats the players were frustrated and they know the situation and want to start getting good results.

"Every day they come to training and work very hard. I am sure in the next games we will get a good result because that is what we deserve to get."

  3. Eyes on future of managerspublished at 11:23 British Summer Time 5 May 2018

    Watford v Newcastle (15:00 BST)

    John Motson
    Match of the Day commentator

This game may have the look of an end-of-season dead rubber but the futures of the respective managers in the Vicarage Road dugouts adds plenty of intrigue.

Despite Watford's struggles of late, Javi Gracia could easily help the Hornets better their previous best Premier League finish of 13th, only to then find himself out of a job in the summer.

Magpies manager Rafa Benitez has enjoyed far better results of late but there are no guarantees about his future either. The Spaniard has dropped less-than-subtle hints of late that he could head for the exit if owner Mike Ashley doesn't give him funds to invest.

  4. Early team newspublished at 11:22 British Summer Time 5 May 2018

    Watford v Newcastle (15:00 BST)

Watford's Troy Deeney has fully recovered from a minor ankle problem but Roberto Pereyra faces a late fitness test on a groin injury.

Andre Carrillo has an adductor problem and misses out, as will Nathaniel Chalobah, Stefano Okaka and Tom Cleverley.

Newcastle United's Islam Slimani begins a three-match ban after an off-the-ball incident against West Brom.

Midfielder Mikel Merino is fit after a back injury and could play.

The vultures are circling around Leicester boss Claude Puel and he desperately needs a home win before the end of the season - his side have not managed that in the league since the middle of January.

West Ham manager David Moyes: "We have got three games to win. If we can win all three of those games then we might find ourselves quite high up the table so that is what we are going to try to do.

"The mood is good. We were really disappointed with how we played, even against the champions, but overall they are keen to put it right."

Leicester manager Claude Puel: "We are aware of what we want for the end of the season and next season. We must keep our concentration.

"We have to play with character and fighting spirit. It's a tough situation but we must give our best and the players must show their quality."

  8. 'Leicester fans will demand a response'published at 11:17 British Summer Time 5 May 2018

Leicester v West Ham (15:00 BST)

It's hard to gauge whether this is a good time for West Ham to meet Leicester City or not.

They are seemingly facing a team with little to play for and in dreadful recent form; on the other hand, with Leicester's season limply petering out, their supporters will demand a response to the Foxes' biggest defeat of the campaign last weekend.

Like their hosts, the visitors are winless in four games since recording what seemed adecisive victory against Southamptonat the end of March; with the Saints now rallying, David Moyes' team are by no means secure.

The Hammers will certainly not want to leave their fate to the outcome of their final two matches, against Moyes' old clubs Manchester United and Everton.

  9. Early team newspublished at 11:14 British Summer Time 5 May 2018

Leicester v West Ham (15:00 BST)

Leicester will be without the suspended Marc Albrighton following his sending off at Crystal Palace last week.

Vicente Iborra's hamstring injury will be assessed while Kasper Schmeichel and Shinji Okazaki are also doubts.

Andy Carroll is included in the West Ham squad after apologising for his conduct as an unused substitute during last week's defeat by Manchester City.

Joe Hart is available, having been ineligible last weekend, but Pedro Obiang and James Collins are out.

  10. Lambert stays upbeatpublished at 11:11 British Summer Time 5 May 2018

    Phil McNulty

Stoke City manager Paul Lambert knows defeat is not an option today - and he has delivered a positive message in his programme notes ahead of the game against Crystal Palace at the bet365 Stadium.

He is setting his sights on two wins from their final games and says: "OK, we perhaps lack a cutting edge in the final third of the field (and please don't think I'm pointing the fingers at our strikers because it is a collective responsibility) but we lack for nothing in terms of heart, spirit and togetherness - characteristics that I believe will stand us in good stead for our final two games."

Johnny Magrinho: Most underrated manager? What about - don’t lynch me here - Big Sam? I know Everton have been playing awful football but they have a terrible squad. They’re 8th. They can still qualify for Europe. I have no idea how they aren’t in a relegation dogfight to be honest..

PHILIP SISWICK: David Wagner is never spoken of. Huddersfield still have a chance of staying in the premier league. Everyone thought they would be relegated by Christmas. He has had one of the smallest budgets to work with too.

BJ: Pep has easily been the most underrated. City have achieved incredible things this season and virtually no credit for Pep. Just about the money they've spent. It would be a disgrace and an insult to give manager of the year to anyone else but Pep.

  13. 'We have three chances to get points'published at 11:07 British Summer Time 5 May 2018

    CarvalhalImage source, Reuters

Swansea manager Carlos Carvalhal: "We have three chances to get the points we need to stay in the Premier League. But we are not waiting for the last game or the last two games.

"We want points as soon as possible and we are looking at the next game as though it is the final one.

"We understand it will be difficult away from home against Bournemouth but our aim is to go there and fight for three points. That is all we are thinking about."

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe: "The first priority is to get Premier League safety. It's in our hands but we have a tough opponent on Saturday.

"Swansea have a good team shape and work ethic. They're very spirited."

  15. 'This is really about Swansea'published at 11:05 British Summer Time 5 May 2018

    Bournemouth v Swansea (15:00 BST)

    Steve Wilson
    Match of the Day commentator

Eddie Howe is not happy. Whilst his side can't realistically be relegated, they also can't realistically match last year's ninth-place finish. So, for the first time in either of his spells as manager, Bournemouth will finish lower than in their previous season.

However, this game is really about Swansea.

With home games to come against relegation rivals Southampton and Stoke, and a points advantage, you'd imagine they should have enough to beat the drop again.

However, what Swansea do not have is momentum. They took only two points in April and have scored only twice in their last seven games. No wonder the alarm bells are ringing."

Bournemouth will again be without injured trio Adam Smith, Harry Arter and Junior Stanislas.

Manager Eddie Howe has hinted that Tyrone Mings could be involved for the first time since September.

Swansea's Federico Fernandez and Luciano Narsingh are both expected to feature after recovering from respective knee and ankle injuries.

Tammy Abraham is also likely to play, having been ineligible against his parent club Chelsea last week.

  17. 'Gerrard will put Scottish football on the map'published at 11:02 British Summer Time 5 May 2018

If someone had have told me a week ago that Steven Gerrard would be appointed to his first job in first-team management by the end of the week I wouldn't have believed you but that's the situation we are now in.

The former England and Liverpool captain was formally unveiled as Rangers manager yesterday and will take over in June.

Former Ibrox boss Ally McCoist says the move has "put Scottish football back on the map".

"It's magic for Scottish football," McCoist told BBC Radio 5 live. "A global name like Steven Gerrard will create interest throughout the world."

Players and managers past and present have been commenting on the move. Read the thoughts of Jurgen Klopp, Gary Lineker, Rafael Benitez, Steven Thompson, Charlie Adam, Brendan Rodgers and more here.

Just that guy: Definitely Sean Dyche, Burnley were tipped for relegation yet he has almost secured them Europa league football next season, Roy a close second after taking a broken Palace team near on safe after a dreadful start

Barry Jackson: Rafa. Dyche has done a great job, but not had the politics or lack of stability to deal with.

Freddie Cocker: It’s David Wagner 1, 2, and 3 spots. The guys taken a championship squad with maybe 5 true premier league class players to the brink of safety on the smallest wage bill in the league with one of the smallest squads - let’s be serious

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson: "We would be foolish if we were not prepared for a Stoke team giving every ounce of energy they can give, and they will be backed by a loud crowd.

"All we can do is make certain we play our football and keep our heads, and don't get sucked into the type of football they need to play."
