You'd expect Huddersfield to fall deeper as the game ticks by, but they've not exactly been camped in their own half so far.

The graphic on the right shows their average position, and they've certainly tried to push the full-backs and midfielders forward.

    Man City 0-0 Huddersfield

Huddersfield's gameplan seems to have been to mix it with City for an hour and, if they make it that far with something to hold on to, lock up shop.

All behind the ball and clearances rather than passes now.

  3. 'Not surprised by this result at all'published at 14:57 British Summer Time 6 May 2018

    Man City 0-0 Huddersfield

    Paul Lake
    Former Manchester City defender

I am not surprised by this scoreline at all. Jurgen Klopp and David Wagner know how to play against City. Every man knows what their role is and the professionalism to keep City at bay.

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 69 mins

    Man City 0-0 Huddersfield

Pep Guardiola withdraws Kevin de Bruyne and brings Ilkay Gundogan into the mix.

    Man City 0-0 Huddersfield

Florent Hadergjonaj ignores the possibility of a Huddersfield counter-attack, choosing instead to hammer a touch-finder down towards the Man City corner flag.

    22 minutes to go.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 66 mins

    Man City 0-0 Huddersfield

The hatches are being battened down.

Tommy Smith is booked for taking an age over a free-kick, milking the clock for an extra couple of seconds.

  7. Postpublished at 66 mins

    Man City 0-0 Huddersfield

Another Huddersfield player - Mathias Jorgensen - hits the turf with an injury.

The big centre-back is coaxed back to his feet, but the visitors are taking some of the sting out the game and the wind out of City's sails.

    Man City 0-0 Huddersfield

    Paul Lake
    Former Manchester City defender

Huddersfield have grown in confidence. They are keeping the ball well and keeping City high up the pitch.

    Man City 0-0 Huddersfield

Huddersfield's Jonathan Hogg was motoring upfield on the break when, with a roar in his rear-view mirror, Leroy Sane appears to haul him down.

Hogg makes the most of the incident though, taking a minute to recover from an apparent arm injury.

Less than half an hour for the visitors to hold out for a point.

Ian: Are the Arsenal's Invincibles better? Yes, they didn't lose but they drew far more games than Man City have and played less attractive football and scored far fewer goals. Would we consider a team that drew all 38 games and just survived relegation as a great team? Of course not.

Jamie: Surely the best team ever in the Premier League is the one that wins the most points in a season? Man City have a chance of doing that this year, and probably in the most competitive period in the Premier League era. Six teams in with a shout of winning, and they've blown them all out of the water.

David Wagner keeps the same shape to his Huddersfield side, but hopes to inject more energy as he brings off lone frontman Steve Mounie and throws on Laurent Depoitre in a like-for-like change.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 57 mins

    Man City 0-0 Huddersfield

Benjamin Mendy is on in place of Fabian Delph.

    Man City 0-0 Huddersfield

Jonas Lossl all at sea for a moment as the Huddersfield goalkeeper comes for a Leroy Sane corner and pushes it tamely into the chest of team-mate Steve Mounie.

Neither knows where the ball has gone in the aftermath.

But before City's strikers can hunt it down, a Terriers defender hoofs clear.

    Man City 0-0 Huddersfield

In some cricket-season weather, Huddersfield are still playing off the front foot.

As soon as they gain possession, the likes of Alex Pritchard bomb on from midfield to lend support to lone frontman Steve Mounie.

City need to move the ball quicker. If they don't they are playing into Huddersfield's hands.

  17. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    And we are back underway.

Can City deliver the win to crown their title celebrations and set a new Premier League points record?

    Let's see.

  18. Zab's backpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 6 May 2018

    Man City 0-0 Huddersfield

Isn't there something about this sort of thing in his West Ham contract?

Pablo Zabaleta -who swapped City for the London Stadium last May - is back at his old stomping ground to do an interview on the pitch at half time.

He is asked how much he has enjoyed watching City this season: "They are incredible," he replies.

He also announces City back onto the pitch as the hosts re-emerge.

    All a little strange.

  19. 'Merci Arsene'published at 14:25 British Summer Time 6 May 2018

    Arsenal v Burnley (16:30 BST)

“Merci Arsene” is splashed all over the Emirates today to thank Arsene Wenger for his incredible 22 years’ service to Arsenal Football Club.

They’ve included a 64-page souvenir pullout in the programme detailing every single season of the Wenger years and I’ve already seen the match announcer nervously rehearsing his lines on the pitch ahead of his big moment.

Man City deserve to be champions. They have played amazing football but the hard work is maintaining it next season then we will see if they are best team. All great teams have retained the title.

Of all the teams people are saying were better than this City side, would anyone really pay more to watch the invincibles, the Man Utd sides or Leicester compared to the football City are playing?
