  1. CLOSE!published at 11 mins

    Man City 0-0 Huddersfield

Plenty have come to the Etihad Stadium this season and not opened for business, never mind pulled down the shutters.

Huddersfield are not going down that ultra-defensive route.

A really canny free-kick routine - feauring a faked run-up and reverse pass - sees Alex Pritchard play in Florent Hadergjonaj down the side of the Manchester City defence.

The Swiss international never really gets hold of his shot though, with Ederson making a comfortable save.

Stevo: So Man City are on course to break points and goalscoring records, have played fantastic football, but are still not good enough to be considered in people's top five Premier League teams?

Stu: Man City deserve to be champions, they've played amazing football but the hard work is maintaining it next season. Then we will see if they are best team ever, all great teams have retained the title.

Aaron Mooy - very briefly of City - drills into the advertising hoardings from 20 yards for Huddersfield.

A decent hit, but a couple of yards wide.

When City try and build in wide areas they are being pressed to play inside. They are having to play in front of the press and that is where Ederson will come into his own.

You just get a sense City are trying to get out but they are not being given the chance.

  5. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Man City 0-0 Huddersfield

Kevin de Bruyne spots Jonas Lossl a couple of feet out of position, anticipating a cross in from the Belgian.

Man City's creative kingpin quickly changes plans and pings a shot goalwards.

Lossl scurries back, looking concerned, but his effort comfortably cleared the bar.

  6. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Man City 0-0 Huddersfield

David Silva is looking as smooth as his freshly-shaved pate.

The Spaniard slips into a pocket of space between the lines, is picked out by Leroy Sane and gets a bit lucky as his return bounces back to him off a defender's shin.

The deflection opens up a route to goal, but Silva's low shot is blocked by Jonas Lossl.

  7. 'Huddersfield sitting really high'published at 13:35 British Summer Time 6 May 2018

    Man City 0-0 Huddersfield

    Paul Lake
    Former Manchester City defender

Huddersfield are sitting really high in the City half and it is something we don't often see and is similar to what Jurgen Klopp has used to beat City in the past.

Wagner was best man at Jurgen Klopp's wedding of course. Have the two big mates being swapping notes on City?

  8. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Man City 0-0 Huddersfield

A chorus of "stand up for the Champions" rings around the stands with less than a minute on the clock.

You've only just sat down guys.

The City players look in the mood. David Silva's first-time laser like ball into the box is just a little over-cooked.

Terriers goalkeeper Jonas Lossl is out to smother in front of Raheem Sterling.

Man City v Huddersfield (13:30 BST)

    Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner, speaking to Sky Sports: "The results yesterday do not change, we have to collect points from our last three games.

"In football anything can happen and anything is a possibility and maybe today is our day. Maybe City will not be at their best today and maybe we can have a chance."

Manchester City emerge into the Etihad Stadium down a gauntlet of honour made up of both their title-winning predecessors of 1968 and opponents Huddersfield Town.

Blue and white flags flutter from every seat.

    All very festive.

But for the Terriers this is business not pleasure.

Victory - a very tall order - today would guarantee their survival.

Man City v Huddersfield (13:30 BST)

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

The Manchester City players will be clapped on to the pitch by the Huddersfield team before kick-off today, but they will get a second guard of honour afterwards.

Pep Guardiola and his players will go into their dressing room at the final whistle while the presentation podium is being built, and when they re-emerge, they will be applauded out by the surviving members of the City team that were league champions 50 years ago - in 1968.

The only people City don't want on the pitch today are their fans - they have already had one pitch invasion, after the Swansea game which was their first since they had been crowned champions - and have asked supporters to stay in their seats after the game., external

Today is a 55,000 sell-out at Etihad Stadium but fans are taking their time to get to their seats - they are making the most of this spring sunshine I think.

  14. 'This is not a friendly game'published at 13:19 British Summer Time 6 May 2018

Man City v Huddersfield (13:30 BST)

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, speaking to Sky Sports: "This is not a friendly game and we have a chance to improve and of course if we can win it will be better.

"Last season we played Huddersfield in the cup and it was tough and we needed a replay. Wagner is a good manger in terms of commitment and in terms of how they play with the ball."

  15. Arsene prepares for the last timepublished at 13:18 British Summer Time 6 May 2018

    Arsenal v Burnley (16:30 BST)

    Arsene WengerImage source, Arsenal

Executive Chairman of the Premier League Richard Scudamore: "Of course, [I'm sorry to see Arsene Wenger go], because you aren't going to get that many people who've made that big an impact on football anywhere, because he has made that big an impact.

"When he came along he set new standards, he set new standards in things that are all commonplace in football now in things like how the players look after themselves, the physical and mental side of the game, and he won a few titles along the way.

"So, yes, we're sorry to see him go so we'll send him our best wishes. But he hasn't mentioned retirement, so I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him back doing something somewhere at another club."

Magician from Riga: Man City will be the best ever domestic side if they break the points record. It’s just that simple.

Martin Bentley: Man City are second only to the Invincibles.

Kevin: Best Premier League defence is still the Chelsea's from 2004/5, and yet the best goals scored record was the 2009/10 double team with Anelka and Drogba.

  17. 'West Brom a different animal'published at 13:13 British Summer Time 6 May 2018

    West Brom 1-0 Tottenham

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on BBC MOTD

West Brom were compact, well organised, disciplined and focused.

The manager has to take an enormous amount of credit. They made it difficult for Spurs who were lacking imagination to bring them down.

They were trying to force Tottenham wide and had some magnificent defending. They're well drilled and look a completely different animal.

The two central defenders were pillars. When they did get in Dawson was there and he was immense.

They took responsibility and communicated. Spurs just couldn't find a way through. Where were Spurs leaders? West Brom peppered them.

They wouldn't be denied. You could see what it meant to them.

Fair play the spirit is back within that football club.

  18. Yesterday's relegation scrappublished at 13:13 British Summer Time 6 May 2018

    West Brom 1-0 Tottenham

    West BromImage source, PA

West Brom were an 8000-1 shot to defy expectations and secure Premier League survival before their meeting with Tottenham yesterday.

A 1-0 win over Spurs and then Southampton allowing victory to slip away at the death against Everton means that Baggies are still just about alive.

I wouldn't rush down the bookies just yet though.

How is this City team being mentioned in the same breath as United's treble winners, Arsenal's invincibles and United's 06-09 team? Even Leicester's 15/16 team are higher than them because they defied the odds.
