Well, that's it from me. And that's it from Egypt and Saudi Arabia at this World Cup.

You can rate the players from this terrific match here.

There's another two games at 19:00 BST when Group B will be decided.

Will Portugal be joining Uruguay and Russia in the knockout stage? Cristiano Ronaldo and Co still have work to do and you can follow the action over here.

Thanks for joining me. Until next time...

KM: How many goals have been scored in the 90th minute and later? As much a feature at this World Cup as VAR and penalties.

Anon: I'm beginning to lose count of the 90th minute winners in this World Cup. Brazil, Germany, England, Portugal and now Saudi Arabia!

  3. 'A matter of pride'published at 17:28 British Summer Time 25 June 2018

    Saudi Arabia 2-1 Egypt

Saudi Arabia goal hero Salem Al Dawsari: "We played a big game, we managed to achieve victory, an honourable victory.

"I was able to register my name in the list of players who scored in the World Cup and this is a matter of pride.

"We were hoping to qualify but the first match did not live up to our expectations and we did not deserve to lose the second game."

Johnny: Have Egypt genuinely just lost to Saudi Arabia? One of the worst ever teams to qualify for a World Cup lose to an even worse side without putting up any kind of fight whatsoever. Cuper’s reign has to be over. They were so awful it was pointless them even turning up.

Jay: Mo Salah looks in danger of becoming the Wayne Rooney of Egypt. Fantastic player, great for the club but not so great for the country in big tournaments.

What a roller-coaster for Essam El Hadary.

Egypt's 45-year-old keeper marked his first - and last World Cup - with a magnificent penalty save before being beaten by the last kick of the game.

He's not going to forget this in a hurry.

Genuinely feel what Egypt needs is more and more of their players playing in the top-5 European leagues. They will improve in years to come as they already have a superstar in Salah who would inspire a generation of players just like Sachin Tendulkar did for cricket in India.

    Amogh.

Greg: Egypt have been very, very poor. Salah without the Liverpool support cast doesn't make any difference.

Karwolo: When are we going to hear that Egypt would have defeated Saudi Arabia if not for Ramos? Salah is a great player but Egypt just aren't good enough.

    Bizarre scenes in Volgograd.

Someone in an Egypt shirt - not a player - is on the pitch and wants a selfie with Mo Salah who obliges. There are fans in red shirts all around the ground crestfallen. Their team is heading home from the World Cup without a point.

Adam: Saudi Arabia WIN IT!!!! They deserve it.... Egypt have flattered to deceive.... some thought they'd push Uruguay at the top of the group... they're finishing rock bottom with 3 defeats... well done to Saudi Arabia though showing some potential there!

Not sure that counts as a genuine reason, Alex.
