Australia come forward over halfway. They remain patient. Can't help but think they should just be pumping the ball forward with men crowding the box.

They win a throw near the corner flag.

Mememan: So much controversy in this one. Another great game though!

James: Two VAR decisions leading to two converted penalties, and now a goal awarded by goal-line technology! Tech leading the assists statistic in the World Cup.

Azuumeh: Technology has done the French a whole world of good.

    France 2-1 Australia

Olivier Giroud is judged to have fouled near the corner flag but that's fine for France with Australia so far from goal. The side chasing the game overplay too and within seconds Nabil Fekir wins France a free-kick on the edge of the box.

    Time ticks away...

Jess: Gutted for Australia. They have played so well. 10mins to even it up again.

Neil: That's about all Pogba has done.

Roshimon: The technology is certainly saving the French team out there.

You can feel the stuffing knocked out of Australia. A Nabil Fekir corner gets volleyed way over the bar by Lucas Hernandez for France. They only need to see this out now.

How unfortunate for Australia that is, that lack of concentration. Unlucky for Behich, he has to go for that tackle with Pogba.

I said it would be a good bit of skill or a bit of luck and the French have had a bit of luck.

GOAL - France 2-1 Australiapublished at 81 mins

    Aziz Behich O.G

Paul Pogba at the heart of this crucial French goal. He links with Olivier Giroud and latches onto the return on the edge of the area but his flick deflects the ball onto Aziz Behich.

It floats over Mat Ryan and crosses the line off the underside of the bar.

The good old Video Assistant Referee checks a few details but there's not stopping this one. A goal, an own goal to be precise. Behich knew nothing about it in all honesty.

France introduce Blaise Matuidi in midfield but there's not a lot coming from them. Olivier Giroud has seen little since coming on and the gold shirts continue to condense space in the final third.

For me, I like Giroud as a centre-forward - he always seems to make a difference and is a dangerous centre-forward.

It is going to be more difficult for these two Australians centre-halves to deal with him, especially in the air. France can get some decent crosses in the box and they will know they have a presence there.

If it stays at 1-1 it would be an amazing result for Australia.
