Australia are not giving France a moment's peace, which as underdogs you are exactly entitled to do so.

I think the 20 days in a Turkish training camp are working.

Antoine Griezmann has not been allowed to get the ball because the Australians are working so hard and are making sure he cannot turn or get comfortable on the ball.

For all that early French energy, each side now has two touches in the opposition box.

The possession reads 52% France and 48% Australia. So it's safe to say the favourites are not getting it all their own way.

Johnny: Pavard looks the weak link in this France side. Full of nerves and lacking any semblance of composure means it’s surely just a matter of time before he gives Australia a way in. It’s not just him who’s been poor though - Pogba, Tolliso & Dembele have been anonymous.

Ousmane Dembele races down the left flank and hits the deck. Trent Sainsbury clearly nudges him at full pace but nothing is given. That was totally blatant and Dembele has every right to wear that confused look on his face.

So far France haven’t been able to pen Australia in, they’ve been able to get out which they will be delighted with that. Approaching 20 minutes, they could be one up. They’re growing in confidence and quite rightly too.

Mat Ryan has already made four saves for Australia in this game; more than any other goalkeeper in the 2018 World Cup so far.

Australia have certainly settled a bit in the last 10 minutes. Their energy in midfield in getting at Paul Pogba and N'Golo Kante is stand out. Aaron Mooy seeing a lot of ball in front of his defence and once again, they build a long spell of possession.

A good save, I don't think he sees it until late. A little flicked header off the French defender too. These are the opportunities they must take.

Australia nearly lead!

That Aaron Mooy delivery was flicked on and Corentin Tolisso almost turned into his own net. Hugo Lloris has to turn it around the post. Good save.

What a turn up that would have been.

Interestingly, for all the talk of a fluid France side filled with ambition, they are dropped into a 4-1-4-1 when Australia have the ball. Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele dropping back as wingers.

Australia keep the ball for a long stretch without getting too far with it. They win another dead ball near the touchline which Aaron Mooy will cross in...

The French front three are so interchangeable and difficult to play against.

Antoine Griezmann floats a free-kick in which Aaron Mooy has to head over his own bar. Australia second best here but I doubt they'll be too disappointed as they're dealing with things without major panic.
