Casa Deco Cochabamba: I'm delighted but the score line flatters us. A great result but I worry how we will do against organised defences who can defend set pieces. A cup of realism, please!

Jake Lambert: Delighted with that win, brilliant from England! Captain Kane top of the goalscoring charts.

Jason: If there is anything negative about a 6-1 win then it's the ease we surrender possession. Depressing! Bigger picture!! Panama just were not at our level. A lot to build on for the future though. Exciting times.

England captain Harry Kane, speaking to BBC Sport: "Fantastic. I am so, so proud of the boys.

We are just enjoying it - enjoying being here. We have been working on set pieces and working on the way we play and it is all coming together. Fantastic to be through and to do it this way is brilliant.

“The fans have been brilliant, both sets of fans to be fair, that is what the World Cup is about. We are enjoying it and we have to keep it going, not get ahead of ourselves."

Believe England can go all the way? "You have to believe, there is a long way to go, a lot of had work but we just have to stick to our gameplan.

"We got to go into the game against Belgium looking to win but this win gives us a bit of a cushion. We will see what happens."

Think he could have scored more if he stayed on? "“Maybe. The gaffer makes the decision, there is the bigger picture."

I don't understand all of the talk about trying to finish second in the group. You should go out and try and win every game. If you want to win the trophy, you have to beat the big teams.

Only Gary Lineker has scored more World Cup goals for England than Harry Kane.

Lineker has 10, Kane and Geoff Hurst have five.

John Stones now has as many as Alan Shearer and Bryan Robson!

    Chris Sutton
Ex-Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 live

It was very comfortable for England. Before the start of the tournament, it wasn't a given that England would qualify with ease, but they have done. Today was emphatic and Harry Kane is in the golden boot race after his hat-trick. It has been a brilliant start to the tournament.

    Alan Shearer
Former Newcastle striker on BBC One

A job very well done. We knew it would slow down in the second half, they could not keep that pace in the second half, but they had the right to do that.

A magnificent day, a magnificent performance. The only down side was Raheem Streling never got a goal, but everything was superb.

Not many people saw this result coming. It was a remarkable first half which was strange but warmly welcomed. Panama were so ill-disciplined and they gave England chances which they dispatched.

Well, if you fancy experiencing more dominant English vibes, look no further than the French Grand Prix, which is about to get under way.

Hamilton is on pole position and could retake the world championship lead - providing he’s not still jumping around the motorhome having watched England this afternoon. Plus there’s a 60% chance of rain – and therefore a 60% chance of crashes.

Whatever you reasons for following F1, live text and audio 5 live commentary is here.

I think Jesse Lingard looked good until he went off. The others have done enough although we didn't look as good as we did in the first half against Tunisia, despite scoring six goals. I have seen Loftus-Cheek play better but he has been ok.

    Fans in Panama

Fans in Panama City celebrated like they’d won the final. It had been looking like it wouldn’t come for them in this game and they’re still being roundly outplayed. Still, at least these fans get to go home from a very wet Fan Zone with something to be pleased about.
